More rope climbs! But this time, they were for fun as a part of #gymnasticssaturday ! The first time I ever used my legs in a rope climb was after I started #crossfit. Let me tell you, that's WAY faster than this. I am pretty happy that I was still able to make it up to the 15' tape line in 10 seconds or less both in a pike and a straddle! My old coach had a challenge for all the guys in the high school program and that was that you weren't a "real man unless you could climb the rope without legs in under 10 seconds". Happy to say I can still hold to that standard!

Recently in the gym we have been focusing a lot on #aerobiccapacity - not exactly my thing [yet]. So I was very happy to see a workout part A today! I did the deadlifts at 225 lbs for all the reps, as there wasn't an Rx weight and did the #pullups as prescribed. This was definitely a good challenge for me because the deadlift was at 85 lbs above body weight and I'm not nearly as good at strict pullups as I was in my #gymnastics days. I ended up splitting each set into 3 equal parts for the pull ups and did 5-4, 3-3, 3 for the deadlifts.
Give this one a try and see if you can do all pullups without scaling or even unbroken!

Space is a luxury...training is not. If you’ve got your pushups and are looking to step things up a notch the pike push-up is a great progression towards handstand push-ups. I love exercises which not only challenge your strength but also range of motion and overall mobility. Here I do three versions, on the bottoms of my toes, on top of my toe nails then with as much weight on my hands as I can muster.
