My head is chopped off, Emma is shoeless, and I'm cool with both.
It was SO hot today, and for whatever reason, my legs felt so heavy. We took off and I could tell right from the start that every mile was going to be hard fought. We ran through sprinklers to keep from passing out, okay so I'm being a bit dramatic, but we did run through sprinklers four times that were spraying on the sidewalks. 😂 Hey, it was fun! Emma and I like to have fun when we run; running isn't supposed to be miserable.
But anyways, I had to have some come to Jesus moments a few times because my legs wanted to quit more than they wanted to run. I am beyond proud to state that I never gave up though, I stayed positive, talked to Jesus (and Emma) a lot, and we got in FIVE MILES! I haven't ran that far in a while this summer. I negative splitted; mile 1 was a 10:56 and I ended mile 5 clocking in at 8:52! Yeah, in a heat index of 100 degrees, no breeze, blazing sunshine, and pushin' my girl, I will take those times! 👊🏼
I'm sort of happy our day is so busy tomorrow that I have to have a rest day. 🤷🏽♀️😂 Heat + stroller miles = worn out mama. ••
