“Pull knee to forehead, navel to spine, shoulders over wrists, high on the toes.” I am a HUGE fan of working that core during my classes. Your core isn’t just about looking good. A strong core helps support your spine (lowering risk of back pain), helps you stand taller in those challenging postures with more control, improves balance & posture in every day life, just to name a few of the many benefits.
This is also why ujjayi breathing and the use of bandhas are so important to use during the practice...both of which engage your core muscles. This is the perfect posture to feel all 3 bandhas being used. If you aren’t sure what I mean by any of those words, ask me and I’d be happy to explain this to you.
