How many times have you heard a trainer say “keep your core tight” during a workout. Even during squats or bicep curls! They always tell you to keep your core tight to protect yourself! If you don’t protect your core, you’re going to injure yourself. I think life is the same way. Think of your health as the core of your life. And health can be more than just physical health. It can be physically, mental, emotional, spiritual, or financial! So when you’re metaphorically working out in life and things around you are changing and growing and rebuilding, it’s important to focus on your core! If your core is strong, you can withstand more stress. But if your core is weak, you may get injured.
Change is hard. Change in any area of life is hard. I’m in a season on change right now and it’s really hard. Jobs are changing, friendships are changing, future plans are changing, goals are changing, habits are changing, and even my hair is (soon to be) changing. Life is full of changes and it can be so hard! Change is uncomfortable to say the least!
You have to find your constant. What holds steady while the rest of the world spins and changes? For me, its my core. It’s that feeling I have after a really great workout or that feeling at the end of the night when I followed my nutrition plan perfectly. Those things never change. Protect your core guys! Strengthen your core! Focus on your core! What are you doing to strengthen your core?
