Great win for the Gunners today so a few beers are in order to celebrate, this one from @adnams & @ukyeastieboys is their 4.5% White Lies, a white chocolate stout.
I know what you're thinking, this looks nothing like a stout, so does it taste anything like a stout?
Not really but that shouldn't put you off as this is still a great tasting beer, it pours a slightly hazed golden colour with a thick fluffy head. There's aromas of chocolate here, taste wise it's hoppy but also the chocolate flavours really come through here in the finish.
How can something be so cute, functional, and delicious?? I have gained quite the appreciation for hops since moving here! Getting to pick them for a local brewery was a super neat experience! And now we have an excuse to enjoy the products of our labor... 🍺 #hogsandhops2018#starwingbrewery#suffolkbeer
A Saturday spent picking hops, drinking a pint or two, and soaking up every bit of sunshine we can! Grateful for every last glimmer of summer, even if I am ready to bring on all the fall festivities! #hogsandhops2018#starwingbrewery#suffolkbeer
St Peter's Without. Very rare for me to pour a beer away but I had to with this one. Not sure if the culprit was bad brewing or diacetyl. There was a strong butterscotch aroma when I opened the bottle. There was a strong malty taste but not much else pleasant. My home brew tasted better. #StPeters#alcoholfree#beer#ale#BadBeer#Diacetyl#SuffolkBeer
Tonight's other #humpdaybeer is one of several supermarket purchases that I've had for a while but not got round to drinking, this one is @greeneking_official 5% Suffolk Heritage Pale Ale, Part of their limited edition Chevallier series.
Pouring a semi hazy amber colour with a thick fluffy white head, tastewise this is decent old fashioned pale (which is whole point of recreating this heritage beer), it's mildly hopped, malty with citrus bubbling under the main flavours and a bitter, dry and crisp finish.
Seeing as the weather has become almost autumnal this evening I may as well go through a few more darker beers, especially those that run out during September 😉
From @stpetersbrewery comes their 7.0% Crafted Black IPA. A jet black beer with a medium white head, to be honest this reminds me more of porter than a IPA but that doesn't matter tbh. Packed full of roasted malts, coffee and hoppy hints, this is a good solid beer and at a nice price too (got this at Tesco's a few months back for, I think £2.20), certainly worth a go if you see it.
