As with other Lexus models, the Lexus NX's interior is everything you would anticipate from the brand. There are upscale and high-quality materials used throughout the cabin. Let’s quickly break down how it compares to its rivals in interior space.
Below are the figures for rear leg room / cargo capacity behind 2nd row / and cargo capacity with the seats folded:
- 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗥𝗗𝗫: 38-in / 29.5 ft³ / 58.9 ft³.
- 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶 𝗤5: 37.8-in / 26.8 ft³ / 60.4 ft³.
- 𝗕𝗠𝗪 𝗫3: 36.4-in / 28.7 ft³ / 62.7 ft³.
- 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀-𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘇 𝗚𝗟𝗖: 37.3-in / 19.4 ft³ / 56.5 ft³.
- 𝗟𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀 𝗡𝗫: 36.1-in / 17.7 ft³ / 54.6 ft³.
- 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗼 𝗫𝗖60: 38-in / 17.8 ft³ / 63.3 ft³.
As you can see above, the Volvo XC60 offers the most room with the seats folded flat while the Acura RDX wins the cargo capacity battle with all the seats in user position. Both of those models also offer the largest amount of rear leg room. The Lexus NX, on the other hand, offers the least amount of room.
Tech wise, my test model, the 2018 Lexus NX 300 F Sport AWD, came with all the bells and whistles including quilted NuLuxe sport seats (exclusive to F SPORT), heated & cooled front seats, heated steering, dual-zone climate control, an F-Sport steering wheel and shift-knob, a 10.3-inch display that is controlled via the touchpad, Bluetooth, and a range of driver-assist technologies. Apple CarPlay is optional along with some Amazon Alexa Lexus skills and a range of Lexus Enform features.
Overall, the interior of the Lexus NX is a solid blend of luxury and comfort. However, I do feel that the NX could use extra sexiness and more innovative tech - something most of its rivals are ahead in.
