Cobbled streets of Rye, June 16
Surprisingly Rye is not always on “wish to see in Britain” tourist lists.
Though it is a beautiful small town, once part of the Cinque Ports Confederation, it is definitely worth a visit in its own right. Its proximity, however, to one the best beaches in Britain - Camber Sands (UKs best for kitesurfing) and number of historical sites: Winchelsea and Winchelsea Castle, Hastings, Sandwich to name a few makes a weekend visit to Rye or East Sussex a very pleasant and diverse experience. It is much easier to drive, but as the car key was nowhere to be found 😂, we opted for a train and a lot of walking. .
With all the holiday allowance used in the beginning of the year, I am back (back, as I kind of done a lot of it when I first came to the UK) to re-exploring the home turf.
Part of the experience is to stay at local B&Bs. This time we were hosted at Cliff Farm. Truly charming traditional English house, with extreme welcoming hosts, some 3 miles away from Rye train station. The accommodation is not advertised on booking.com or Airbnb, but you will find it if google. .
Finally, treat you self to greasy, fat Fish and Cheeps, but not in a restaurant. Get the full experience with a take away! .
