The world nowadays looks like a scary place, but there’s so much beauty for those who’ve got eyes to see it, for those who’re open to embrace it, for those keen in helping making the change possible.
That said, yesterday while everyone was buying colourful flowers at the traditional Sunday @columbiaroadflowers market, my friend @bibianka.norek and I were enjoying a delicious meal just there.
Falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, flat bread, chicken with rice, kebah, kashkah and more, were amongst the dishes that @imadssyriankitchen prepared for us in a fantastic and colourful location overlooking the caos of the market.(btw I need the recipe of the Bado and the Syrian ice cream...mouthwatering!)
But yesterday was so much more than just a supper club...
Imad teamed up with @helprefugeesuk to raise funds for a hospital in Syria. £15 from every ticket sold for “Imady’s Syrian Kitchen x Choose Love” will be sent to Hope Hospital, the only paediatric hospital in the region of Aleppo, Syria.
Hope Hospital became the first ever crowdfunded hospital in early 2016, thanks to the support of groups like Help Refugees. It is the only children’s hospital in the Aleppo region, and the doctors working here serve a community of over 250,000 Syrian people.
Food is magic and not surprisingly makes us sit all around the same table, sharing nutrients and stories. And maybe even makes the magic happen! #dreammore .
