Some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten. I take care of other people ALL the TIME. In my personal life. In my professional life. Don’t get me wrong - I love it. Taking care of people is definitely my calling. It’s in my blood - I come from a family of doctors after all (big surprise, I know ) •
But it’s wayyyy too easy for me to forget to take care of myself too. Or even remember to check in with myself regularly and notice when I could use a little self-care. More often than not, it takes a concerned friend asking me if I’m doing OK for me to realize that somewhere along the way, my own well-being got lost in the shuffle. Oopsie! •
So I’m asking you: are you maybe feeling a little less than OK? Do you need a break? Is your body (or your brain) asking you to rest, or even just slow down a little bit? If the answer to any or all of these questions is yes, I hereby officially give you permission to drop everything and get your butt into a bubble bath. Or get to thee to the nearest cupcake. Or whatever it is that you do to recharge your batteries.
I for one am spending the evening doing all of the above and more, and I could not be happier! ♀️
