Doesn’t it always feel like there’s a new food we should be eating for fat loss?🤨

People make nutrition seem so complex. And there’s definitely parts of it that are. But it can also be much simpler than what it’s made it out to be.
.
Try this meal plan, eat this food for fat loss, do this diet to burn fat faster. I tried different meal plans and diets for years. Yet somehow they always led me to overeating. I’d restrict certain foods for so long, that I’d eventually cave and eat more than I should.
.
Enter in flexible dieting. It’s what has allowed me to have a much more balanced approach and better relationship with food. I’ll eat about 80% whole nutritious foods and 20% less nutrient dense foods. 🍗🍕🥗🍦
.
Flexible dieting can be pretty simple to start out. Keep yourself in a calorie deficit (burn more calories than you eat) and you’ll lose weight. Looking to gain weight and put yourself in a calorie surplus (eat more calories than you burn). Or if you’re happy with where you’re at, you can keep yourself at a maintenance level.
.

I wasn’t going to post today but something happened and wanted to share. I wasn’t having the best day, thinking people can be so cruel for no reason at all, then a girl I work with complimented me in the bathroom. She told me my ponytail looked so cute and effortless and wanted to know how I pulled it off. I know that seems like nothing, but, it made my day. I didn’t even try this morning, just threw some dry shampoo in and tied it back. So this made me feel good.
.
But it made my day not because she complimented my hair. It was because she complimented me period. It reminded me there ARE sweet people out there, even when it doesn’t feel like it at times. She didn’t have to compliment me, we’ve never spoken more than 2 words in passing. But, the point is she DID. And that shows heart, even something this small. .
This is why I’m always such an advocate on exuding positive energy always and treating others as nicely as you can every single day. You never know what they may be going through or what kind of day they’re having. Always remember this when speaking to others, especially friends and acquaintances. I’m not just saying to freely give compliments to whoever but, be a positive in the all the negative energy in this world! You never know what a huge difference simply saying hi and smiling can do for someone having a bad day or going through a hard time. These are my words of wisdom for today. Have a wonderful day!💜

We all struggle with body image.
.
First thought when I saw this photo 😖 but then immediately followed by 😏 When I first looked at it, I thought about how thick I looked. All those years of thinking skinny = fit came trickling back into my mind.
.
BUT, I quickly stopped myself 🛑 Instead of thinking of all the areas I need to improve on, what can I be proud of? For one, I’ve put on a decent amount of muscle mass. Two, I’ve never seen my glutes grow and I’m finally seeing a wee bit of growth in them. 🍑
.
I get uncomfortable in my body just like everyone else. There’s good days and bad days. We never know how we’re going to feel when we wake up. But for me, as soon as I catch myself saying something negative, I remind myself I NEED to say something positive. If we continue to focus on the negative, we’ll continue to stay stuck.
.
Social media is a great reminder of how bad we want instant results. I want to wake up with a six pack of abs and look like the girls at a bikini show just as bad as the next girl. But our bodies don’t work like that. I have to remind myself the same thing I preach to my clients, instant results NEVER LAST. I’ve tried that one too many times.
.
Can we agree to stop comparing ourselves to the people on social media? I’m way too guilty of this. But our day 1 is nowhere near their year 5.
.
Maybe once we stop comparing, we can start to see the beauty in our own journey. Who’s in? ⤵️

Got the Sunday night leg day in and I’m ready for a good week to come! I kind of relaxed and kept it easy this week but had great workouts and am ready to work hard and stay focused on school going forward. Happy Sunday everyone! Today was a chest and arms day and it’s quickly becoming my favorite day of the week. The gym was empty and the pump was real. I then spent the afternoon watching football with friends and am now meal prepping for the week. PSA: Tomorrow is the extension deadline for all calendar year pass-through businesses so if you’re the owner of an LLC make sure that return is filed! I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend and is prepared for the week. Monday (and Sunday) is an opportunity to set the tone for the week, so do something you enjoy and get the hardest tasks done early so the rest of the week is smooth sailing!

Recorded a full body workout using only the barbell yesterday In our new home gym (still a work in progress, hence why you see Chris taking down those beer signs that were there when we moved in🙄). Be sure to save to try out for yourself and don’t forget to double tap so ya girl can figure out what workouts you like to see!💕

Here’s the workout(first clip):
1. Bent over rows
2. SL deadlift
3. Cleans
4. Front squats
5. Push press
Perform this entire circuit in a descending format (7 reps, then 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) with no rest in between. .
Second clip:
1. Barbell jump squats 15 reps
2. Good mornings 15 reps
3. Reverse lunges 15 reps
Do this circuit 2x through no rest. Finished off with some high intensity abs👌🏼

I’m alive! This week was rough. I only made it to the gym twice because the final tax deadline of the year is on Monday and I had so much to do I couldn’t make it work. On top of that my husband was out of town working nights so I didn’t get to vent to him much. He got home this morning around 6 and we went to breakfast then to the gym. I still have some work to do today, but I’m glad I got to the gym and am looking forward to relaxing and watching some football. Here’s to next week being better!
