This week’s cheese n wine combo celebrates all that is fabulous about food and wine produced on our home turf…
Rosary is our most popular goat’s cheese, and rightly so, as it has an utterly divine, mousse-like texture with clean, fresh, lemony flavours.
Made with pasteurised milk and vegetarian rennet, it won the Supreme Champion Award at the British Cheese Awards 2014, and it’s just as good today!
Scrape it onto one of these delectable fruity, nutty, crunchy Toast for Cheese, made by The Fine Cheese Company, and wash it down with a glass of England’s finest White Pinot.
Rarely used to make still white wines, Pinot Noir needs very careful handling in the winery to ensure that no colour is extracted from the red grapes when they are pressed.
With aromas of baked apples and red cherries, and flavours of peach, mango and melon, this wine has a long and complex finish with notes of toast, spice and smoke from 8 months fermentation in old oak barrels.
Delicious on its own and paired perfectly with Rosary goat, it’ll also go brilliantly with smoked salmon fishcakes, cold roast chicken or giant couscous with raisins, apricots and preserved lemons.
