Happy Thursday y’all!
If you only care about me lifting heavy shit, then you probably don’t care about this post. Forewarning ⚠️
And now that I got that out of the way, I wanted to talk about mental health and the way it is viewed in society. I have a, “get over it and suck it up mentality” but when it comes to depression and mental illnesses it’s not that simple. I feel most of the population who has never witnessed or dealt mental health disorders personally, can never fully grasp the affects it has on people, mentally and physically.
The people who view depression and other mental illnesses as “weak” have never had to fight day in and day out with their mind, trying to convince themselves that it’s all their head. They have never had to experience their mind tricking them into believing all the people they love, would be better off without them. The inside battle is EXHAUSTING, physically and mentally. Until people stop seeing mental illnesses as, “taboo”, and a “weakness”, then we will continue to see people suicide rates so high.
Check on your friends, smile at a stranger, don’t be scared to go out of your way to make someone’s day. ❤️
