My Top 5 Revisited. I've recently had the Parlour Burger at the new St. Paul location and a few times at Target Center, but this time I got back to the original Parlour Cocktail Lounge below Borough and I'm so glad I did. They do say, "There's nothing like the original", and it's so true. I may be crazy, but I think it's just a little bit better at the original Minneapolis location.

It's probably most peoples favorite burger in the Twin Cities and certainly belongs there. It's incredible! Two thin, smashed patties, a blend of ground chuck, ribeye and brisket. They are juicy and flavorful, with a great char. The White American cheese is delicious and plentiful. The pickles are great. The bun is soft, lightly toasted and fantastic. It's everything you dream a burger should be and more.

It certainly is on the Mount Rushmore of Twin Cities Burgers.

OK, I need your help. How would you rate a burger where the beef, cheese, sauce, onions, pickles and bun were all fantastic? What's that? 5 Star? Alright, I trust you. I'm going with that!

Feller - Stillwater / The Feller - 5 out of 5 stars!

The boys in the burger band are back together after a week off for another Twin Cities Burger Night. @phatphood, @shawnsrodgers and our special guest for tonight, @aj_eats_mn, paddled up the St. Croix River to the historic town of Stillwater. There, at the super cool @lora_hotel, we found an equally cool restaurant called Feller, @felleratlora, who's kicking out an even more super cool burger called The Feller. What we found out tonight is that Chef Sam Collins, @samcollins391 knows how to create a burger. The grass-fed beef from @straussmeats is a blend of chuck with a little New York Strip thrown in for your tasting pleasure. It was cooked to temp, seasoned very well, charred and juicy. What will grab you first is the incredibly delicious house made American cheese. It's plentiful, has a unique flavor and an incredible taste. A very generous amount of tasty, grilled sweet onions are placed on top and then their house made pickles join the party. What Chef Collins has also created is an incredible Thousand Island-ish type sauce called Feller sauce. Guess what? It's fantastic and plentiful as well. All of this is housed in one of the best buns I've ever had. It's a house made brioche bun, which is soft, yet firm, lightly toasted and feels just right in your hand. It's perfect!

I honestly believe if you want to be known in this town, you create a killer burger and put it on your menu. I want you to know, this is a killer burger! It is worth your time.

My Top 5 revisited. Pretty much everyone who has seen my Top 5 list says “Park Tavern?”. Yes, Park Tavern! I know, it’s been a bowling and entertainment center for 50 years and probably hasn’t been mentioned as a place with a great burger. It should be.

Park Tavern - St. Louis Park / Butcher Burger - 5 out of 5 stars!

Chef Eli Renn, @eli_renn , who has plenty of Twin Cities Burger Cred, was brought in and made some major changes and additions to the menu. The Butcher Burger was without a doubt his best addition. This burger is fantastic! Chef Renn has moved on, and Chef Matthew, @bobbyscallopini , has taken over the kitchen. I can tell you this, the Butcher Burger is still fantastic!

This burger melts in your mouth. It feels like a pillow of deliciousness in your hands. This is a double patty blend of ribeye, short rib, sirloin and butter. These are loose beef patties, charred beautifully and super juicy. American cheese is perfectly melted over each patty. Whiskey onions have a great flavor and top the patties. The final topping is a delicious horseradish aioli. The main street bakery bun is soft, lightly toasted and fantastic.

I believe this burger belongs with the rest of the Top 5 burgers on my list that you know so well. I think you’ll love it!

I’m sorry to say it had been a couple of years since my last visit to Saint Dinette. I felt I had to somehow make up for lost time. We got there right when they opened and had the whole bar to ourselves. I was thinking to myself, I’ve never seen a post of a Saint Dinette Cheeseburger with three patties. On top of that, I’d never seen a post of a Saint Dinette Cheeseburger with pork belly. Well, I have now!

The message this night was “ask and you shall receive”. I asked if they would add a third patty and pork belly. They said Yes to both requests. 😀

This Cheeseburger is on most people’s Twin Cities Top 10 Burger list. Why? It’s simple burger deliciousness. Their beef, blended with tons of butter, is flavorful, juicy and charred to perfection. Their American cheese is melted beautifully and is delicious. Don’t forget about those pickles they give you on the side. They are fantastic! The @pjmurphysbakerymn bun is soft, lightly toasted and works with that great beef and cheese. The pork belly is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I took a couple bites of the Cheeseburger with the pork belly and the ate the rest of it on the side as I wanted to make sure I enjoyed the Cheeseburger in all of its natural glory.

This burger definitely belongs in the conversation for best burger in the Twin Cities!

There’s a new restaurant in town folks!
@shortortalleateryanddrinkhall opened this week in Rogers.
First impressions are everything and this placed rocked it! From their cool suspended keg room and tap system to the amazing food to the outdoor patio with a 45 foot high fireplace (swipe 👈 to view) They’ve worked hard to fine tune the craft of fun🎉
The outdoor heaters are so efficient that they will allow patio usage during the winter months as well. In MN, this is HUGE!
They have a creative food menu, a fabulous line up of craft beers🍺 (over 80! + many are local) and they also have cocktails & wine on tap. The spirits for the signature cocktails are from @tattersalldistilling 🍸

October brings a lot of things we like. Fall colors, football kicks into high gear, and Halloween. Those are all pretty cool, but for me, October brings another Burger of the Month at Celts Craft House. I say it a lot, but doing a Burger of the Month allows Chef Al’s creativity to shine. Let me tell you, his Chicago-style Hot Italian Burger shines bright!

Celts Craft House - Apple Valley / Chicago-style Hot Italian Burger - 5 Stars!

I talk a lot about not just having a burger, but having a burger experience. This is an interactive burger experience.
.
You could just stack a few thin slices of seasoned roast beef on top of a beef patty and call it a Hot Italian Burger. Not here. Their half pound @patlafrieda blend of short rib & chuck is cooked to temp, beautifully seasoned with Italian seasoning and then charred nicely on the grill. A five cheese blend tops the seasoned beef patty. Next is the key to this Italian burger, Chicago-style giardiniera. Giardiniera is basically Italian relish made from an assortment of pickled vegetables. This one’s got a nice kick to it. It had my mouth doing a tingly, happy dance. More of the five cheese blend tops the giardiniera. I added a few pickle slices to cut the heat just a little. The Denny’s Fifth Avenue Bakery Pub Bun is lightly toasted and perfect!

You can’t have a Hot Italian Burger without au jus. Au jus means “with juice”. Their rosemary garlic au jus is fantastic. This is the fun, interactive part of the burger experience. Take a couple bites of the burger and get the flavor of the Italian seasoned beef patty and the spicy giardiniera. Then dip it into the delicious rosemary garlic au jus, just like you do with a Hot Italian Beef sandwich. Get it a little soggy and enjoy! Tear off a chunk, dip it, repeat. How many burgers have you dipped into au jus? This one is meant to do just that. Trust me, it will take this burger to the next level. You need to experience it.

I'm sure you've heard about it. That place way out in the boonies that has really good burgers, but you never knew if it really existed. Well, I found the place, and ironically it's called "Boonies"!

Have you ever heard of Millersburg? Have you ever heard of Boonies? Didn't think so. I've driven so close to this place hundreds of times, but didn't know it. Hop on Interstate 35 South for about 30 minutes. It's a mile west of I35 right before Faribault.
.
It was voted 2014 Best Burger in Southern Minnesota by Southern Minn Scene Magazine, which covers all things in the lower half of Minnesota. I've got a new magazine to check out.

Boonies has 10 different burgers on their menu, but the Millersburger is their "Famous Burger". A 1/3 pound patty, cooked perfectly medium for me, pretty juicy, and seasoned pretty well. American cheese is the correct choice in my book. That is topped with a slice of leaf lettuce, a couple of tomatoes and a full slice of raw onion. They've got some very good special sauce that they swipe on the top bun. Get a side of it for your fries too. The bun is really good. It's lightly toasted and enhances the whole burger experience. If you are really hungry, get the Boonie Burger, which gets you a second 1/3 pound patty or the Boonie Boonie Burger, which adds a third 1/3 pound patty. I'll work my way up to the "BBB". 😉

I liked this burger! The next time you are heading south, out of the Twin Cities, take exit #66 and make a burger stop at Boonies in Millersburg.

The Suburban - Excelsior / The Fest - October Burger of the Month
.
It was nice to be back at the 2018 Burger Battle Champion's restaurant, devouring great burgers and appetizers and trying some great beers. I got a sneak peak of the October Burger of the Month, appropriately named "The Fest". You are going to like this burger. Their certified angus beef patty was totally nailed! Cooked to my temp, very juicy and seasoned well. I wouldn't need to go any farther, but a slice of nicely melted, swiss cheese tops the patty, then they add a slice of @laquercia prosciutto from Norwalk, Iowa, which is considered the best prosciutto made in the United States.
.
It's hard to top that, but they do with a slice of a soft, smokey, roasted red pepper. One of the kickers for me is the German mustard that is generously slathered on the top and bottom buns. It grabbed my attention right away with its smooth, sweet and very distinct little bite. Delicious! The final piece is the very good, soft, lightly toasted pretzel bun. It was perfect as well.

This killer burger will be available throughout the month of October, which gives you one extra day to knock out a few of them!

It seems like I'm going back to a lot of places that I frequented or visited when I was a kid growing up. I guess a lot of us love the nostalgic part of it. It brings back good memories and we all can use a little bit of that. I never actually visited this place, but I vividly remember crossing the single lane Rapidan Dam right next to it and staring in amazement at the force of the water coming out of it.

If you want to take a little drive from the Twin Cities, the over 100 year old Rapidan Dam near Mankato is pretty cool and will take you back in time a little bit. Right next to the Dam is The Dam Store, which has been around just as long. It's a sweet little store/diner you should visit.

They are known for their Dam Burgers and their Dam Pies. I ordered the Dam Burger, which is a half pounder, I added American cheese, bacon and grilled onions and you get a few dill pickle slices on the side. It was a pretty Dam good burger, but even Dam better sitting in this little diner, listening to the rushing water and just taking it easy. They bring your pie when you are done with your burger. It was one of the best Dam pieces of Banana Cream Pie I've had in quite some time. We also may have gotten a slice of Strawberry Cream Pie for the road, which lasted a minute in the car.

If the store is full, you can take your food across the road to a park area perfect for a little relaxation. I recommend making the short trip down towards Mankato to The Dam Store. Have a Dam Burger, and a couple pieces of Dam Pie. I think you'll enjoy your trip!

If it's Thursday, it's Twin Cities Burger Night. The usual cast of characters showed up, @shawnsrodgers, @phatphood & we were happy to have @lizzy_mpls join us. We knocked on the door of @pub_819 and they let us in for some good food, drinks and of course a few of their tasty burgers were devoured as well.

The beef, a single patty from @prairiecreekfarms was cooked to my temp, seasoned pretty well and just had a good feel and texture to it. As you can imagine, the flavor profile of this burger is wine, mushrooms and some creamy cheese. Some really good sautéed mushrooms and onions join the party. The onions were just how I like them, good sized slices, soft & fleshy. These top the patty and are drenched in a delicious port wine reduction. It's got a great flavor. The cheese is creamy, earthy, nutty Camembert. It's very similar to Brie, but a little more intense flavor. Great choice! The bun from @turanobread was nicely toasted and firm enough to keep everything this burger has in check.

I think they nailed exactly what they were going for with this burger. It's really good!

I love finding small, neighborhood type restaurants, located in strip malls and kicking out cheap, good burgers. Zeke's place does just that. I know everybody says, "it was just what I expected". Well, I'll say, "it was exactly what I wanted". Two thin patties, good enough, juicy enough, with tons of American cheese. I added a couple strips of bacon that they cooked perfectly for me. I also added fried onions as I always try to do. Give me a few pickle slices to throw on and keep the bun simple and lightly toasted.

You're not going to get any fancy aioli’s or anything like that. Maybe throw on some ketchup or mayo. I'm a happy burger guy! You will be too.

If it’s Thursday, it’s usually Twin Cities Burger Night with the TCBN boys, @phatphood, @shawnsrodgers. Our special guest tonight is @mnchuck. We are at the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. A super cool wide open area on the ground floor that is Prairie Kitchen & Bar.

Chef Kevin Patton brought out some very good appetizers before the much desired burgers. I had the All-American Cheeseburger, which was their July Burger of the Month. It did so well, they are putting it on their new menu along with possibly another burger. The new menu will come out in October. We’ll let you know when it does.

This has two @straussmeats grass-fed beef patties, griddled in butter. Butter is good. Both patties are topped with good ole’, great melting American cheese. A couple slices of bushel boy tomatoes, romaine lettuce and thinly shaved red onions sit on top of the bottom bun and a bunch of dill pickle chips and a slight pouring of tasty Thousand Island sauce top the patties. The bun is your classic brioche bun.

As an American, I can tell you the All-American Cheeseburger is a good burger. Don’t let the location deter you. You can get free valet parking while you are eating. You are close the the convention center and orchestra hall. Stop in!
.

There are so many places that are offering killer happy hours, or “burger hours” as I like to call them. I definitely like the ones that don’t end until 6:00pm, which gives you a little extra time to navigate traffic and take advantage of great food at great prices. I’ve got a place that fits the bill.

Pittsburgh Blue - Edina / Triple-Stack Burger

I think @pittsburghblueedina has some great items available on their happy hour menu including their Stack Burger. You can get it in a single, a double or a triple. Triple please! To be honest, I expected smashed, thin type patties, but these were thick, and the beef was loose, which I do like. The beef had good flavor and seemed to be seasoned well. There was a ton of cheddar cheese and it was melted perfectly. I loved the charred onions, there were a couple pickles and some special sauce as well. A fresh slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce were also on top. The bun was a toasted sesame bun and worked just fine. With the beef patties being so loose, things did fall apart pretty easily, especially with three patties. I just had to work a little harder. No problem.

While I did like this burger, I’d elevate it even more if they gave me more manageable beef patties, more charred onions, more pickles and more special sauce.

I will definitely come back for another burger.

I didn’t know much about this restaurant until a few months ago, but after a few visits it has become a favorite of mine. @bardompls recently had their one year anniversary and celebrated with some new menu items. Chef & owner @remypettus has been tweaking his Happy Hour Burger and I’m happy to say the burger tweaking is over and the finished product was well worth the wait!

With their great patio, Bardo was the perfect place to host a Twin Cities Burger Night, #TCBN. The usual team of @shawnsrodgers @phatphood and myself were given the red carpet treatment by Chef Remy and his incredible staff. Trust me, you’ll get the red carpet treatment as well.

I did mention a burger didn’t I? Let’s dive in. The beef from @niman_ranch, was cooked perfectly medium, seasoned well, flavorful and pretty juicy. Chef Remy is cooking this beef in a cast iron skillet, which in my opinion is the best way to cook a burger. I don't see many places using Muenster cheese on their burgers, but more should. It's mild, mellow and melts beautifully. Crispy bacon in little strips and chunks top the patty and cheese. Tasty caramelized shallots top it as well. The top bun is slathered, as I like to say, with what Chef calls "green sauce". It's an aioli with a Greek yogurt base and a bunch of different fresh herbs from their onsite garden. It's fantastic! The house made Potato and Egg bun is firm and toasted perfectly. It is a little springy/spongy in a good way and will definitely hold up to anything thrown in it.

I really like this burger! It's available during Happy Hour from 4-6pm & 10-Close. You can ask for it by special request as well. I would if I were you.

There is a bit of construction around the area, but I have always found parking within a couple of blocks. Do not let that stop you from venturing down to this part of Minneapolis. If it’s a new month, it’s a new Burger of the Month at Celts Craft House. This month, my favorite Irish Pub is taking us to the Caribbean with their Jamaican Jerk Burger.

Celts Craft House - Apple Valley / Jamaican Jerk Burger (September Burger of the Month)

We all know how much we love jerk chicken. Celts applies those flavors to beef, and I think you’ll love it. They still use the 1/2 pound @patlafrieda blend of short rib & chuck. Cooked perfectly to my mediumish liking and juicy. A dry jerk spice is rubbed on the patty and the flavor is activated during the searing of the patty, giving it a nice “jerk char” as I’ll call it. I’m going to jump ahead to the perfect, Denny’s Fifth Avenue Pub Bun. They give the top bun a nice slather of their jerk wet marinade and then grill it to bring out even more jerk flavor.

Yes, it does bring the heat in the best way possible, but they counter that heat a little bit with their delicious and chunky, mango habanero chutney, which is dumped on top of the beef patty. I think your taste buds will be delighted with the Jamaican flavors and the Jamaican heat from Chef Al’s latest creation. I love this burger!

Located across the street from Rice Park, right next to The Ordway and a few blocks from the X, Herbie's on the Park has always been a great spot for pre and post games, concerts and plays, but you don't need an event to stop in, feel welcome and get some great food and drinks. Herbie's on the Park - St. Paul / Herbie Burger

I requested their signature Herbie Burger and was not disappointed. This 7oz. Stock Yards Certified Angus Beef patty was cooked to my medium preference, was juicy and was seasoned well. Thick, white cheddar is melted on top. A few pickles sit in the generously slathered mayo on the bottom bun, soaking up the burger juice as well. The bun held up well.
.
You need to like onions, which I do. There are a lot of super thick caramelized onions topping the cheese. I added bacon. The bun from New French Bakery is soft, lightly toasted and very good. This burger has a lot of flavor. I liked it a lot.
.
Special thanks go out to our server, Tammy, who has been with Herbie's since they opened. She knows everything, and her food recommendations were money. The service was awesome! Also to Chef Tim Kovacs for his great menu and for saying hi. Nothing has changed with the A Fat Burger since I last had it. It's still awesome! The incredible Blaser's Sharp Cheddar Fondue, dripping off the burger, will blow you away from the first bite. The best burger cheese I've ever had. Delicious Neuske's bacon tops the double patties. The patties, sourced locally from Swanson Meats, delivers the goods. A great char, seasoned well and pretty juicy. Fresh lettuce, onion & tomato are provided as well.

Tasty bacon and onion jam are spread on the very good, lightly toasted, brown butter brioche bun from @breadsmith_twin_cities . You will have a smile on your face before, during and after tackling this beauty. I love this burger!

This is a beautiful restaurant with great views of Wayzata Bay. There is a large patio and a very cool rooftop bar and restaurant part of it as well.

The North Loop area of Minneapolis has a bunch of very good restaurants. How do you choose? There’s just something cool about a brewery feel to a restaurant. If you pair that with a very cool patio and some really good food, you just might have something. The burgers? There is something cool about those too!

The Freehouse – Minneapolis / Freestyle Burger

If it’s Thursday, it’s usually Twin Cities Burger Night #TCBN with @phatphood & @shawnsrodgers. We are at @freehousempls in the heart of the North Loop. They’ve got a very nice line-up of really good burgers to choose from. I had the Freestyle Burger which is somewhere around a ½ pound ground chuck from @reinhartlacrosse. It was cooked beautifully, was juicy and seasoned pretty well. Cheddar cheese is the choice on this burger. A couple of very red slices of tomatoes top that. Fresh lettuce sits on the bottom bun. A bunch of very thin sliced pickles on the lettuce and a little mustard thrown on as well. They also drizzle on some of their own special sauce which was very good. Of course I had to get some on the side. The egg bun from @franklinstreetbakery was soft, lightly toasted and very good. I liked this burger.

This is a great place to hang out before a Twins game or any other event in downtown Minneapolis. The patio is super cool. I love all of the trees and hanging plants. There are a ton of really good appetizers as well. I would recommend a stop. The Freehouse is also part of the Blue Plate Restaurant Company, which includes The Blue Barn at the Minnesota State Fair, which I know you and I will be spending some time at next week. In this ultra-competitive burger world that is the Twin Cities, we look for something that stands out a little bit, something that grabs our attention. I experienced something that does just that. What comes to mind when you think of a Pizza Burger? Beef patty, mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce and some pepperoni all on top of the patty? Until now, yes. Chef Eli Renn at The Park Tavern is doing it a little differently.

The Park Tavern – St. Louis Park – Pizza Burger
.
In my previous Twin Cities Burger Night post from The Park Tavern with @shawnsrodgers, @phatphood & @burgeraweek, I told you about the 5 Star burger that is the Butcher Burger. Chef Renn takes the incredible beef blend of ribeye, sirloin, short rib & butter and the brioche bun from that burger and transforms it into the Pizza Burger. He uses cheddar and parmesan cheeses on the beef patties.
.
The few pizza burgers I’ve seen out there usually take the top bun, flip it over and then add toppings. For me this changes the whole look and feel of the burger itself. Now the top bun doesn’t sit flat on the patty, throwing things off a little bit. Some even take a premade mini pizza and place it on top of the burger. Pizza crust is definitely not the same as a burger bun. This is not done here. To keep the look and feel of the burger, the top of the brioche bun is sliced off and then tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperonis are added, then it’s broiled to melt the cheese and give it the pizza look.
.
I had done an Instastory about a pizza burger that I’ve thought about for a couple of years and made at home for the first time just the way this one is done. I asked for someone to make it and Chef Renn has done it. Thank you, Chef!
.
For me, the coolness factor of this burger is off the charts! This way of doing it is totally unique to the Twin Cities. I really love this burger! Give it a try and see if you do.

When Chef Eli Renn, @eli_renn, personally treats you to incredible food off his new menu at The Park Tavern, you just enjoy the moment and the food as much as you can. The Butcher Burger? I’ll try to describe it.

The Park Tavern – St. Louis Park / Butcher Burger – 5 Stars!
.
I vividly remember the very first Twin Cities Burger Battle at Mears Park in St. Paul. The People’s Choice winner and my favorite burger was the Chimichurri Burger at Gold Nugget Tavern & Grille. Their burger team was led by non-other than Chef Eli Renn. He has award winning burger creation is his blood. His new burger, off his new menu at The Park Tavern, the Butcher Burger is incredible! This beauty certainly stars with the beef. The two thin patty, super flavorful blend of ribeye, short rib, sirloin & butter, will literally melt in your mouth. The patties are seasoned well, juicy and have a nice sear to them. I also love the fact that these are soft and loose beef patties, but still stay together.
.
Beautifully melted American cheese tops each patty. Flavorful whiskey onions on top of that. Finishing off this masterpiece is their “horseradish aioli”. I have to tell you, this stuff is totally delicious! Too many horseradish sauces have a very sharp bite to them. Not here. It is mild and super flavorful. Get some on the side. The buttered, lightly toasted brioche bun from Mainstreet Bakery is fantastic as well.

This burger just has that “IT” factor. When you hold it in your hand, you feel at peace. It has the soft, buttery, melt in your mouth feel that you will absolutely love. I totally love this burger!
.
A Huge thank you to Chef Eli Renn and his great staff at The Park Tavern for making this such a special night. This burger will turn some heads.

Great food and great beer? Sign me up! This place has award winning beer and I will give my own award to their food as well! A Triple D episode doesn’t hurt either.

Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub – Minneapolis / Northbound Burger

What’s the saying? “Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em”. This place certainly does that. I’m here for the burger, and it’s a good one.
.
The hand pattied Angus beef was cooked perfectly, passed the juicy test and was seasoned pretty darn well. It comes with a leaf of bibb type lettuce and a fresh tomato slice. Mayo is also swiped on the top bun. The bun is a toasted egg bun from Denny’s 5th Avenue Bakery and it’s great.

Now for the additions. Listen carefully, please. You can add a few things if you like, and I liked the cheddar cheese. It was melted nicely and had that smokey cheddar flavor. I also added caramelized onions. I liked my choice. The last thing I added was their house cured bacon. This stuff is fantastic! They give you two big, thick slices. After you have this bacon, you’ll want to take pounds of it home with you. Guess what? You can! They sell it right there.

I really liked this burger, and there are so many other items on their menu that I want to try, I will be back many times. I can’t wait to get back and try something new. Check out their menu online.

I’m always looking for more good burger options in the south metro. I’ve come across another one. It seems like a few Italian places have figured out the art of making a good burger.

Vivo Kitchen - Apple Valley / Vivo Burger

This farm to table restaurant is serving up some great food and happens to have a darn good burger. If you’ve had the burger at Zelo or Ciao Bella, this reminds me of those. And those are good burgers!
.
This is a thick patty, cooked exactly to my preference and very juicy! They chose provolone for their cheese. Caramelized onions and some good, thin sliced pickles top the patty as well. Under the patty, a fresh tomato sits on some greens and those marinate in their tasty special sauce. The house made griddled bun does the trick.
.
Vivo Kitchen has a very cool patio, so get down to Apple Valley and check it out.

I’m starving! I feel like something with an Asian flare. Where can I go? An Irish Pub? Yes, what a brilliant idea!

Celts Craft House – Apple Valley / Szechuan Burger

I’m not joking. Their August Burger of the Month has incredible Asian flavors coming at you from every angle.
.
Let’s start with what we know and love about all of their burgers, the half-pound, @patlafrieda blend of short rib & chuck. This was, as usual, cooked perfectly to my liking and was very juicy. Seasoned? Not this time, but I’m ok with it. Let me explain.
.
There is no need to season the beef when their homemade teriyaki sauce/glaze is poured over it providing the right amount of saltiness. This sauce will grab you right away. It’s full bodied, but not too overwhelming and not too salty. If you are going to give me sauce, then GIVE me sauce, as I like to say. They do. The teriyaki sauce oozes down from the top of the patty, but the bun collects it nicely and not much is lost.
.
I can’t tell you every component to Chef Al’s scratch made toasted sesame slaw, but it’s a beautiful, colorful, flavorful and a very important part of this burger. Roasted peanut Szechuan sauce is slathered on the top bun for even more Asian flavor. The Denny’s Fifth Avenue Bakery Pub Bun is fantastic! Soft, lightly toasted, but solid. A great bun.

I made sure I stopped in early this month so I could tell you this flavor bomb of a burger is available throughout the whole month of August. If you are craving some Asian food, make a stop at my favorite Irish place for their Szechuan burger. I really like this burger!

Brunch? A meal eaten in the late morning that is a combination of breakfast and lunch. That is the definition you will find in the dictionary. My definition? The Brunch Burger at Celts Craft House!

I know, I'm posting Celts Craft House again. Well, since it is my go to burger/food stop AND I happen to love their scratch made food, I'm not going to stop until you've paid them a visit. OK. I won't stop then either. 😉

July's Burger of the Month is the Brunch Burger and it is fantastic! Their half pound, signature Pat LaFrieda blend of ground chuck and short rib was spot on. Well-seasoned and cooked perfectly! Melty, American cheese tops the patty. Now the breakfast part, a couple strips of perfectly cooked bacon, topped with an over easy egg, then delicious Hollandaise sauce is poured over the egg. Another breakfast item is their cheesy hash browns, perfectly cooked on the grill sitting below the beef patty and on top of the bun.

Oh, the bun is an English muffin. They grill it on the flattop, which gives it a nice little toast, but the rest of it is soft and bouncy. It was great and soaked up everything nicely. They give you a few thinly sliced pickles, which I had to put on as I like to do.

You will have a fun time with this delicious breakfast/lunch (brunch) burger! 🍔

I loved this burger! My only regret is that I didn't get here until the 24th of the month. I won't make that mistake again. The good news is there is a week left for you to get the Brunch Burger AND you can get it all day, every day.
