Maths/ Numeracy is one subject I’ve always disliked. When I see numbers I begin to sweat. I’d never take pupils in upper primary classes because of Numeracy . Then I got to my current place of employment @coronaschool_gbagada ....mehnnnnn every lesson is fun! Tokunbo @tkglam2003 started taking my class Numeracy and her classes are outta this world, the videos, songs, games, group work and all. When the children are playing games on the smart board, I’m like “gurllllllll the internet was made for you”! She effortlessly delivers her lessons and brings international flavour and standards to the classroom always. She’s made Numeracy seem like a walk in the park. Now when I see numbers, I go head on and face it. I recently wrote a professional exam where I applied some of her classroom flavour and I passed. Most of my course mates failed and when they were doing a retake, they called asking if I wasn’t sitting for it, I answered in the negative and boldly said, “I pass am” . Due to my former dislike for numbers, they had to ask, “how you do am?” Loool!
How did I do it? I learnt, I kept an open mind and I got better and it positively affected my personal life.
This is a new season to be receptive of new ideas and not feel like someone is trying to show off or feeling like they want to prove that they know better than you. #educateyourself #naijateachers #classmates #weteach #teachersofinstagram #teachme #teacherstribe #teacher #teacherlife #teacherfashion
