B has a saying that pretty well sums up trying to relive an experience; “you can't go home again."
The last time we visited Moab, Utah (our next stop after Capitol Reef) it was a quick stop in spring ’17. We remembered loving the little coffee shops, breweries, the perfect temp and the relative quiet of the town plus proximity to the parks. We were so excited to be back! But this time... It was so packed full of tourists + cars + HEAT that we didn’t recognize the place. September shoulder season in Moab is no joke. Combine that with an unwelcoming attitude to telecommuters in coffee shops and a super-enforced no overnight policy in town, AND the insane cost of camping within 20 miles… 🙄✌️'You can't go home again' is another way of saying that you just can't expect the same experience twice. .
So, we looked at a map, drove straight up 46 in to the mountains of Telluride, and didn't look back. 🌈🏔
