Whilst some people may say that success starts with getting your arse in the gym, your mind is actually where success starts.
If your mindset isn’t in the right place then no matter how many times you drag yourself to the gym thinking you need to workout to reach where you want to be, you won’t reach your goals ❌
You’ll be bored, fed up and more than likely raid the cupboards as soon as you get home to give yourself a lil’ pick me up. Which, if your aiming for weight / fat loss completely defeats the point of working out and will more than likely put you in a surplus leading to regression instead of progression. Think about it, if going to the gym is a chore, if it’s something you feel like you need to do but don’t really want to do, then honestly how are you going to make any progress?
When it comes to being successful with changing your body composition, be that weight loss or weight gain, then your mind is what holds the power to keep you focused to reach your goals 🔥
The first step to being successful is ensuring your mind is in the right place for long term commitment and accepting and understanding that bumps in the road are going to happen and you’ll do anything it takes to overcome them.

So, so proud of my client Julie who started her ‘Empower’ training program only 8 weeks ago - look at that waist😍

When Julie first came to me in October her goal was to lose body fat, and like many other females she was too intimidated to venture into the weights area of the gym on her own. She enjoyed going to the odd spin class at the gym, however she found herself getting bored of cardio pretty quickly and wanted to push herself out her comfort zone. Julie currently trains with me twice a week, and unsurprisingly compound movements have worked wonders for her body composition. She has lost over 1 stone, 6cm off her waist and 6cm off her hips.

‼️Glute Activation‼️- I cannot count how many hamstring strains I’ve encountered in the past, but this is because my glutes do not activate when I sprint and/or the kinetic chain is is out of sync whereby my hamstrings activate before my glutes. Using a resistance band around my knees and in the side lying position I complete both the Clams and Hip Abduction exercises - which really get the glutes firing! Include these in your warm up for sprinting, jumping and leg days to wake your glutes up 🏃🏿‍♂️🏋🏿‍♂️!

But you can get some kinda cute, kinda awkward photos instead😬 and if you sit like I am in the second photo long enough, you'll probably get pins and needles and then lose feeling in your legs all together...😅 (I do this way too often👀) But on a serious note, I'm really trying to fall in love with training again. It's been hard going from training comfortably with the same person for 2 years to training a lot harder by myself and then training with PT's from other gyms and being pushed like I've never been pushed before😳 (defo wanted to cry in one of the sessions 😭😂) and now the hardest part is trying to keep the same energy when I train solo😕

Gonna be taking a little break from training after next week because first of all I'm getting tattooed again👀 and secondly, I think my body really needs some rest!🙌🏽
