✨HEALTHY DURING THE HOLIDAYS✨ The holidays have officially begun! Halloween is over and hopefully the last remnants of that halloween candy is almost out of sight. But now we have holiday dinners and office parties and weddings and gatherings and food food food! So what should you do? When people say to me “I could never eat that way. I love pepperoni pizza so much” My response is always “then eat pepperoni pizza! But don’t let that be your excuse for eating like crap every other moment of the day.” Besides.. how often are you eating pepperoni pizza 🤔. We have 3-5 times we eat in a day. That is 20-35 times a week we have to make a decision about food. That ends up being 80-100+ times a month we are choosing what breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner we want to eat! That’s a lot of times to choose heathy options and not let the holiday dinners take control. Yesterday I hosted a dinner. I ate dessert (an amazing apple crumble btw). The effects of that Apple crumble on my health and weight in the grand scheme of my week, month and year is very small. I woke up, ate my usual yummy healthy foods, and then I had dinner. Today is a new day and I’m back to my healthy yummy foods that I love. Don’t let the holidays be your excuse to go overboard. If you find this happening, you may be caught in the circle of deprivation and binging at these meals. The trick is to always eat so you’re satisfied, not restricted. That way the holiday meals don’t effect you as much. 🍎🍊🍋🥒🍆🍠

When you are inspired to make a delicious and beautiful banana nice cream bowl and you end up with this 😂😂. Not so pretty but so so good! Blended up some frozen bananas with some berries and cinnamon. Then topped it with blackberries, bananas, coconut flakes, puffed rice cereal and cacao nibs. I posted this on my story last week, but I decided to post it on here as well, because I am really proud of my 60 pound weight loss (in 7 months). Even though the picture on the left is hard to share, as it was taken during a very low point in my life, I am glad that I have it, because it reminds me of how far I have come.

Many of you have been so encouraging towards me and I'm so grateful for that. And many of you have also inquired as to what I did to lose weight and although I try not to be pushy, I cannot sing the praises of a whole food plant-based diet enough.

Within the last month, I have achieved and surpassed the one & only weight loss goal I had set for myself, which was to reach the weight I was before I got pregnant with Owen. Although I do expect to lose a bit more weight, I am not focusing on a concrete weight goal anymore. Instead, I am just going to continue doing what I am doing, add in some enjoyable exercise, and focus on being healthy and happy.

✨WEIGHT GAIN VS BLOATING✨ I created this side by side to share with my clients so now I’m going to share it with all of you! How much time do you think has passed between these photos? Would you believe me if I told you it was 15 hours? The photo on the left was taken the evening Kyle proposed to me. Best night ever! But then we got back to the hotel and he fell asleep while I stayed up all night enjoying myself 🍾🍪🍰. I was too excited, I couldn’t sleep! They sent us champagne and desserts and I definitely indulged! The photo on the right was taken the next morning at brunch. Hellooooo bloat! Same angle. Same 24 hours. Only difference was alcohol, dairy and sugar. So many people are walking around every day with at least 5-10 extra pounds of bloat on them simply from eating sugar, dairy, high sodium and alcohol on a weekly (daily) basis. They have no idea how their body would actually look if they cut out/down those foods. Inflammation is not just for swollen joints. It shows up in our face and our body. Especially our stomachs. Bloat is inflammation! I eat and teach all my clients how to eat low inflammatory foods. They naturally lose weight because they simply aren’t bloated all the time. Many people don’t even know what it should feel like to feel good and not bloated all day! This doesn’t mean I never indulge. But 95% of my life- more or less- is Plant Based and anti inflammatory. This is purely a choice I make on a daily basis so I can look and feel my best. Because hey, who doesn’t want to feel good?? 🍎🍊🍋🥒🍆🍠

Holiday mode activated; finally get to dig my teeth into The China Study 👨🏼‍🏫
For those that aren't aware, this book reveals the findings of the largest nutrition study ever conducted. Surveying thousands of people across 65 Chinese counties from 1973–75 & tracking mortality from numerous diseases, Dr Campbell and co-authors concluded that those eating a predominantly whole-foods plant-based (WFPB) diet had the lowest rates of non-communicable disease. Those avoiding animal products, processed foods & refined carbohydrates have been shown to prevent & reverse the development of various cancers (breast, prostate & colorectal), diabetes, heart disease and obesity 😮

I don’t get to eat at home much so today I took the chance to make myself a quick comforting meal ✨
I’m slowly incorporating cooked foods back again after my cleanse, which ended three days ago (in case you missed it, it’s in my highlights 🤗) and this was just what I needed.
🥗 Huge salad 🥗 with beet greens, arugula, spinach, beets, broccoli, jicama, and avocado with a quick dijon dressing (a few squirts of dijon mustard, coconut aminos, and lime juice), topped with chili flakes for that extra 🔥
🍲 Simple but delicious veggie soup 🍲 prepared with carrots, potato, celery, green beans, cilantro, onion, zucchini, and tomato 🙌🏻
