“When something seems bad, turn it around and find something good.” - words of wisdom from Daniel Tiger. 🐯
We had the joy of watching our first episode of Daniel Tiger yesterday afternoon with Baby A and the timing couldn’t have been better.
For those who follow us closely, you know that we were out to find snow this weekend similar to how he went on the hunt for snow during the last three day weekend. Unfortunately, it’s two strikes for us.
The 5 freeway was shut down due to icy conditions therefore we took an alternate route. After 2 hours of driving, we encountered a road block on the alternate route as well and had to turn back. Given that the main route was already shut down, we decided to abort mission and head home for the second time this year.
We felt bad for Baby A and G so we stopped by Walmart in Santa Clarita to buy them a toy each. What followed was hilarious.
Baby A ran through the aisles shouting “I running, I running!!!” She had the greatest time. While we didn’t get to play with snow, Baby A was just as happy cruising through the aisles and exploring the massive store.
Gandalf got to hangout with Dad in the parking lot and got plenty of attention so he was a happy employee as the Walmart greeter for 30 minutes.
Since we left so early, we got home at 11am and felt like it was another full day together as a family. We had a nice play time at the park where Gandalf got to play frisbee with Dad and Baby A got some playground and rare TV time. Gandalf got to fetch all day at home so you can see in this picture, he was happy as can be. Overall the day was redeemed!
Do you have any weekend redemption stories to share? Also, for those that have young children, do you have any recommendations similar to Daniel Tiger?
