Messy kitchen, happy home. ....🤨not always, actually. But Jesus is there, always in the midst of drudgery, turmoil, and order. Ever present. My little ones have memory verses, and the latest is from Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart...” My barely-talking son loves the previous verse his sister memorized, which is Psalm 18:30 “ As for God, his way is perfect.” Trust in the Lord and hold back nothing. Why? Because when it comes to God, His way is always right.
Yesterday as I grudgingly performed my homemaking duties, my heart was pierced with this: Jesus didn’t come so that I would be ok. That’s not what he said. He told us we would have trouble. And he said to believe. Trust. He came to give us abundant life.
Hey, life is messy. And on our own we will never get it cleaned up and put right. Jesus is our only Hope, and our only chance for real peace. Trust Him. Why?
Because “as for God, His way is perfect”. Jesus has overcome all this mess, and promises us a future and a purpose. I want it! So I’ll say yes, Lord. And instead of working so hard to make my life look right, I will work hard at trusting, believing, resting.
