32,000 feet zooming through the air feeling invincible, we don’t skip a beat as we open our Mexican cokes. The coke magnified the the feeling of adventure, as cliche as it sounds, is true and it’s electric. Anticipation of entering a new world is layered with that thrill and also understanding that it’s an immense gift. Three roommates and best of friends spontaneously purchasing three tickets to México City with virtually no planning - is a freaking enormous gift. I can’t wait to share some stories of our experiences but also the faces and narratives of individuals. From seeing the president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, to eating in a home filled with humility and a stray gato that I wanted to smuggle home. Such richness and color of the culture mirrored with complexity and social oppression that was hard to comprehend in our short time there. A simple personal truth reinforced is that no matter where we step foot, people carry fundamental similarities in their stories even if it is dressed differently. A narrative that is significant. How worlds can be so vastly different yet share such similarities brings such perspective - and that perspective is what aids in a life of true abundance, I’m sure of it.
