Please Read - Today is a very special day for us. Today marks our 7th year as a married couple. During the busiest time of the busiest of seasons, we have always made sure to take a weekend to reflect on one of the biggest decisions we’ve made in our lives.
Much has changed for us in the last year, but today I would like to take it a few years back to an evening I received a call from my dad. The gist of the call was heavy, to the point, and important. The tests were positive for cancer. Things were early on, so that was good news. But there was a lot of uncertainty.
The news hit quick and hard, jostling questions loose from all parts of my brain. Is my dad going to be ok? Is there really good news in a situation like this? How can I help?
After many months of treatment and fighting, we are thankful to be able to say my dad is happy, healthy, and in remission, but the question of “How can I help?” still sticks with me until this day.
Months ago, Seth of @sethandkaiti shared an idea with us. He has a passion to provide housing for families who require cancer treatment but do not live close to treatment centers. While my parents moved to Ohio a few months before finding out about my dads diagnosis, other families’ timing is not as ideal.
So please join me and support @fighttogether either through a small donation, or if you’re so inclined, donate by joining @rafal_bojar @sullivanandsullivanphoto @twyla.jones @chadbfacesphoto and @kevloweryphoto in LA from February 12-15 for a week of craziness and learning. Plus, 100% of the weeks proceeds will go to families in need of housing for cancer treatment!
This is just my story, but we know everyone has their own version. We hope you’ll join us in the fight.
