This is a five year olds face when he's broken his collar bone and is trying to "look sad about it." As he says 😂
If you've followed my stories yesterday was one for the books! It took me an entire day at the doctor's for RJ's ear infection, through two rounds of vision therapy a homeschool day despite the holiday and a trip to the store to realize my five year old was holding his one arm extra funny. Eight pm at night as I'm helping Dagen wash up before bedtime I became convinced that while my son didn't cry, complain or talk about it his arm was hurt.
The night prior he had landed on his right side after he'd jumped off his twin bed, we iced him and didn't see a mark, apparently collar bones are tricky. Still I felt serious Mom guilt, how could I have missed this?
The ER doctor didn't know what part to x-ray first either, she said he was not localizing the pain as you normally would.
But about five pictures later of his entire upper body and there it was, a tiny clavacal bone with a clean break.
Dagen wanted to know if they'd cut his arm off now if it's broken, and if they'd need to give him a "Zipline" like Clarity had 😂
(Referring to the time Clarity needed a PIC line for a few weeks)
We all assured him no, and he's pretty pleased with his arm sling 🙌
We got home about one am, and we've taken the day off because : exhaustion:
Never a dull moment around here, Dagen's just happy to be home another day and I'm hoping we can keep him safe and still for the next four weeks while his bone heals 🙌
