Here in the soft late-evening winter light, Fox Crew favourite of the early 2000's, is 4.3m “Guy” passing here by our deep submersible 'Ocean Floor Cage' on the last dive of the day.
Guy was named in honour of our former skipper Guy Manthorpe also tagged with a Pop up (PSAT) Satellite tag by CSIRO govt scientists and dubbed as 'Arcadia' for a while, ..... however he was first identified as Guy in our records and that name has taken precedence.
We haven't actually seen this big adult male for nearly a decade now and like many other long term regular great whites of the Neptune Islands we do tend to miss any regulars that fail to turn up again each year. Many years have passed now and its probably unlikely well ever see him again, yet we are still ever on the lookout to recognise this shark with such a very distinctive dorsal fin. ✅Follow, like and comment ✏ @shark__life 💘 Tag your love 👍
