Now here’s an easy, sit back, a good ol’ laugh kind of film. THE SETTING: New Years Eve inside a once prestigious hotel, host to the biggest names of Hollywood, now faded, with only poor young Ted looking after it. But instead of Hollywood’s most glamorous and respectable he meets... a coven of witches, a cuckhold husband and wife, some really bad kids, and.... Quentin Tarantino.
Remember the thing when we’d post 3 characters from TV or movies who best described us? I wish I could pick one who’s cool, sexy, or that kind of nerdy, lonely guy but we all love anyways because the movie is fucking brilliant. But truth be told most of me is just like fucking Ted the Bellhop. But DAMN is Tim Roth HILARIOUS in this! Every wiggle and pop and noise/words he does is a brilliant physical comedy performance.
The first two segments of the film are alright: one cheeky, one silly. Jennifer Beals’ hair is FABULOUS. But everyone knows the last two are the best: The Misbehavers by Robert Rodriguez, and The Man from Hollywood by Tarantino. The great debate being, just like Grindhouse: who made the better film? I personally love The Misbehavers, and Rodriguez does demonstrate the more entertaining and dynamic use of the film medium, and it’s a story of hilarious details as everything de-rails. And there’s Antonio Banderas who’s always the best. But The Man from Hollywood always reminds us Quentin is the king of dialogue. “Well, Ted the belllllboy! Would you care for some champagne, as I was saying? Well that wasn’t was I was saying, but would you care for some champagne?” Who writes like that?! TARANTINO, THAT’S WHO! And just grips you, stringing together unimaginable and irrelevant rants to eventually builds the best kind of suspense. Love watching this movie and it’s wild batch of stars... What’s with Tomei in the pic? She looks nothing like this in the movie. #nowwatching #cinephile #lovemovies #cinema #movies #movie #film #cinephilecommunity #fourrooms #quentintarantino #timroth #antoniobanderas #jenniferbeals #madonna #marisatomei #90s #robertrodriguez #moviecollection #dvds #dvdcollection
