Lists have saved me notes . Not my average to-do list, those are fine but I mean listing out things I want to be doing with my life and time. I write ideas down when I have a clear head, when I’m in a good mood or feeling strong or excited about life. Then in times of weakness, instead of something self-destructive or detrimental to my health, I choose from my lists. It’s like sending a message from my sane self to my crazy self, because my crazy self can’t think straight and doesn’t come up with good ideas in the moment. I have a big picture set of goals like Crush + Glow and all of the skills and tasks I need to build it, then I have more day-to-day ideas, a list for home and a list for out and about.
I have lists literally all over the place, some I refer back to and others I don’t. The point is just that I make it a point to think about what I’m doing with my life or who I want to be, I am mindful about how I want to be spending my time. I make these ideas real by putting them on paper, for my reference later on and in times of need.
Here are some of my tops—
HOME: lay on my acupressure mat, foam roll, supine twist, stretch, meditate, read, write, Netflix, read blogs I love, try new recipes, prepare for the day ahead or the next day, bubble bath, face mask, clean, sex, sell clothes or old things on @ebay, call family or friends.
OUT + ABOUT: walk around and get some movement in, manicure, pedicure or chair massage, shop for things I need, get a tea, browse a book store, call my Grandma, listen to podcasts, shop around for cards or gifs if I have any events coming up, sit in a park and write or read.
