People can sure be funny about other people striving to make positive changes in their lives. .
Whether it’s external or internal change, I have seen it over and over, woman sets out on new journey, there is more often than not, SOMEONE chirping in their ear about not “needing” to do whatever they’re doing (ie: building a new business, working on weight loss/fitness goals). .
“You look fine already.” “Why would you try for that? It won’t work.” “That’s a scam.” “You work too hard.”
So on and so on.
Each time I share a before and after pic from my own health journey, someone will tell me that I looked just fine before. And that’s great. Thank you for that. I know the intention is so kind. But, what you don’t see is how I FELT in that before photo. .
I felt defeated.
Like there was more.
That I owed it to myself to give the world my best.
That is why.
Someone setting out on a self-improvement journey does not mean that they dislike themselves.
It doesn’t mean they are vain.
It doesn’t mean they are self centered.
It means that they LOVE THEMSELVES.
They love themselves enough to know that they, body, mind and soul, deserve the best.
Whatever that “best” means for them.
That in mind, let’s make sure we’re lifting one another up instead of making light of what’s important to someone else, even if it’s not important to you. Sending ALL the love to you if you’re on your own journey. And hey, if you don’t know where to start for yours... I’m just a DM away. ❤️
