Surprise sherry bone marrow shot @monnieburkes last night. This place just opened in #pilsen - really glad we checked it out. Loved their spacious courtyard patio - so perfect for enjoying every last bit of this nice weather.

I was invited back to Yosma to check out some of their dishes that are perfect to share on this upcoming Eid. Pictured is the Lamb Chops, Lamb Rump, and the Fillet Steak.
My favourite dish of the three was the fillet steak. It has been cooked exceptionally well with the steak possessing a nice crisp exterior. It was one of the better halal steaks I’ve had.
The lamb chops were simply flavoured and soft. Unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the lamb rump as I found it quite lamby. ♀️ Halal status: All of the dishes are halal and are noted with a H symbol EXCEPT the beef short rib and the baby chicken dish. The beef short rib is cooked and prepared separately, whilst the baby chicken is cooked on the same grill but in a separate designated area to avoid cross contamination Certification is available upon request. Please do double check halal status on the day you visit as suppliers may change !

This Dashi Simmered Rice with Vegetables made with soy sauce, sake, root vegetables, and rice paired with chicken thigh is a flavorful rice dish you'll enjoy AND feel good about eating!
For the Dashi: Dried Fish and Kelp Stock - Makes about 7 cups
½ ounce kombu dried kelp; an approximately 5 by 6-inch piece
8 cups water preferably filtered or spring water
1½ ounces bonito flakes katsuobushi about 3 cups lightly packed
For the Takikomi Gohan: Dashi Simmered Rice with Vegetables
1½ teaspoons vegetable oil
1½ teaspoons toasted sesame oil
¼ pound boneless chicken thigh trimmed and cut into 3/4-inch pieces
½ cup carrot sliced 1½ by ½ by 1/8 inch peeled
½ cup aburaage 1½ by ½ by 1/8 inch store-bought sliced
fried tofu skins
½ cup burdock root 1½ by ½ by 1/8 inch (gobo) or parsnip peeled & sliced
1/3 cup gray konnyaku 1½ by ½ by 1/8 inch Japanese yam cake sliced
2¼ cups dashi see recipe above
2 tablespoons Japanese soy sauce
1 tablespoon sake Japanese rice wine
1 tablespoon mirin sweet rice wine
¾ teaspoon kosher salt
2 cups short-grain white rice “sushi rice”, washed well and drained

One of each! Tempura fried avocado taco with corn relish, taco Dorado de papa with a jalapeño cabbage slaw, pork chorizo Verde taco, and chicken mole taco! Last, but not least, an organic blue corn quesadilla with epazote, squash blossoms, and Oaxacan cheese. We had a great time at @bullvalleyroadhouse on Wednesday night.
