Our amazing one of a kind vendor for Sunday, Aug 19th market is @peachykeencases that makes environmentally friendly, handmade designer iPhone cases.
Peachy Little Story.
As of 2016, the average North American throws out 81 pounds of clothing and textiles per year. If every three to six pieces of clothing represents one pound, that is 243 to 486 pieces of clothing per year. Nearly 100% of all textiles and fabrics are recyclable! @peachykeencases mission is to reuse old textiles for our products, we can use anything from funky prints to solid colours. They currently only produce phone cases and accessories but we one-day hope to expand into the fashion industry!
@peachykeencases found a medium men’s t-shirt can make up to 30 case designs with the fabric available! They do not only use clothing items but also textile scraps from local businesses (We LOVE and support our local businesses!). These scraps are usually doomed for a lifetime in a landfill, but @peachykeencases is able to incorporate them into our cases in trendy, unique ways. Textile waste makes up for 5.2% of all waste generated in the United State and Canada, food scraps coming in at 14.1% and plastics at 12.3%. With our love for fashion and the environment, @peachykeencases figured that these cases were a great first step to making a difference in how the public perceives textile waste and hence, Peachy Keen was born.
Each Peachy Keen case is hand designed and handmade so every case might be a little different from another. @peachykeencases take pride in carefully sourcing our materials and crafting our cases.
