Armani is launching a new smartwatch running Google’s struggling wearable platform called the “Emporio Armani Connected 2018”. This is a premium smartwatch with pricing at and above $300, but it does have all the necessary hardware features to compete with the best of Wear OS right now.
The new smartwatch shares the same design as the previous model. The body is made from stainless steel case, and you get two buttons on the right side for menu and back, and a crown to scroll through the menu. Up front, you have a 1.19-inch AMOLED display and the ambient light sensor.
The Connected 2018 has a sensor on its back which monitors heart rate and performs the same functions a Fitbit does; it features a GPS which can help the user navigate without requiring a phone, and; it has NFC (near-field communication) which allows the use of Google Pay. Also, the watch’s body is water resistant and users can easily go for a swim wearing it.
On the software side of things, it now runs on Wear OS by Google, formerly known simply as Android Wear. That means Google Assistant will be available to answer your questions and requests.
The new Emporio Armani Connected smartwatch is available to pre-order from the company’s website, and it is expected to start shipping from August 25 onwards in the US. In rest of the locations worldwide, the smartwatch will be available in early September.
The new Emporio Armani Connected starts at $295 with plain rubber straps. The versions with fancy metal bands will run you as much as $395. #techygoogle #Techno #news #technology #emporioarmani #smartwatch #google #touchscreen
