It’s the things like this that show me, the way I communicate with my children when they act up is effective. I make sure they understand what they did is wrong and own it. I also make them explain in detail why they chose to do what they have done. And simply ask, now do we raise you to act like that? Y’all all know the answer! To work three jobs and come home to hustle until 2 am. To have a negative balance on my bank account and cry every night because I missed my family back on the island SO FREAKING much.

But I have NOTHING on so many of you (like seriously). I have students who have battled cancer and figured out a way to stay on their grind despite enduring chemo (WHAT?).

Students who have filed for bankruptcy but never stopped pushing the envelope (THAT is some crazy endurance, baby).

Because when they had EVERY reason to quit, they dug deeper, pushed harder and found the spirit to keep going. MAD respect.

And that's exactly why I have ZERO empathy for excuses because while you're busy stuck in your own head nonsense, the people who truly deserve to WIN are grinding it out.

I told her the weight would come back & that this lifestyle isn't for her as it's not a quick fix to a lifelong obsession with food.
