(1 of 26) I had lots of curious people wondering what I was up to riding around on ATVs in Southern West Virginia a couple of weeks ago — I was actually working on a personal project: Trailfest. So, National Trailfest is a real-deal yearly event, where ATV enthusiasts from all over descend upon tiny little Gilbert, WV (“The ATV Friendly Town,” a friendly place with nary a stoplight or any cellphone service), to ride the hundreds of miles of dirt road that make up the Hatfield-McCoy trail system in the daytime and race their machines through the mud in town at night. I headed down to stay with my neighbor who makes a yearly trip of it, and brought my camera to see if I could meet some interesting people and make some interesting photos. I had a rollicking great time and accomplished both of my goals. I’ll start posting pics from that trip here on IG, and will be updating my website’s personal projects section with some of these photos soon. Enjoy!
