Need to build my back thickness which is a general weak point for me so I decided to hit deadlifts today for the first time in about 4 years. 160kg for 4 solid reps with good form. Feel like I could have got more reps but didn’t wanna overdo it first time. Will push for 200kg over the next couple of months!

My starting weight I envisage being around 97kg and I will drop down to not specific weight but a look where I feel lean enough.

How will I achieve this? By sticking to my energy needs, eating adequate protein and weight training.

Basically consistently doing the right thing until I get to a physique I’m happy with.

So you want to put on some muscle, this doesn’t mean eat everything in sight. (You May have heard this called a dirty bulk).

We want to be smart with our food choices to help maximise muscle growth and minimise fat gain.
#
We are looking at a slight increase in calories to just over maintenance calories.
#
Also your protein doesn’t need to be as high as it is compared to when you are cutting. This is because there is more insulin in your system and you want more carbs and fat to fuel your activity and training sessions.

If you don’t like what you see in the mirror I highly doubt stepping on the scales is going to make you feel better.

Why do it to yourself? If you are looking to get in shape you shouldn’t think you have to achieve a certain weight! I’m sure you wouldn’t mind being any weight if you had a good physique.

The only reason you should have a certain weight in mind is if you are you are a boxer or a jockey.
#
If you are working with a health professional (make sure they have given you a training and a nutrition plan) they may need your weight to track your progress but it shouldn’t be your concern.

I thought I would update you all on my journey so far..... First photo on 24/02/18 at 13st 9 second photos 20/04/18 14st 10. Enjoying the journey so far, eating more food (not always to planπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ) and steadily growing in size thanks to @christianwilliamspt who has been a great inspiring and patient teacher wno will get me through my show. I’ve been getting posing sessions of @mike_leica_gelsei which I am now practising daily because it’s so much to learn and I need to get it right. Sports massages from @gabbieamos to help with scar tissue and muscle tightness which I’m already starting to see benefits from. I’ve also been attending yoga with @kimbrockhurst190563 who actually got me doing my first ever successful handstand on Tuesday haha ! This is helping my flexibility and again muscle tightness. I have quite a hectic week as you’ve probably noticed by watching my insta storiesπŸ˜‚. I’ve been eating 6 meals a day and a post workout shake. Meal 2 for me is prepped by @mrprep_ which is one of my favourite meals! . I slacked a little on my cardio so my aim for this week is get that back up to remove some more of this unwanted fat whilst I grow..(sticking to the diet also helps) Hahaa. I want to get bigger and leaner with more food to make things as easy as possible when it comes to my prep. βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–

I believe heavy Shoulder presses with controlled form and full range of motion will give you canonball delts like it has for me. Here I'm doing 145kg-8reps and 155kg- 4 reps Shoulder presses for reps( this is @ around set number 7 or 8,i do high volume training,im building my way back up again after some niggling Injuries to get to my best working weight again of 160 kg for 6-10 controlled power reps.
