Hit the legs yesterday at the gym. I increased most of my weight so I'm feeling the extra stiffness this morning. This mornings run should be fun! Gotta milk that lactic acid somehow.

Made myself get up and run this morning despite the cold. It was 14 degrees when we started, but it was surprisingly not to bad. I think having the sun out help tremendously. Frost beard season has begun!

Combining this mornings run with a #tbt for the night before my first marathon at @madisonmarathon. It feels like forever ago that I ran my first one and cant wait to see what April brings for number 4! Starting this week I plan to get a group of Ass O'Clock runners going out Tuesday and Thursdays to keep moving through the winter and to keep me accountable for my runs so come January my mileage base isn't slipping for when training officially begins. Hit the chest/back on Monday and did Legs today. I'm also getting in some good ab work these past few weeks so it's been a little easier each time I do them. I feel good in week 3 of 5 of this routine and I definitely feel my strength coming back now that I'm back to lifting heavier weight. Now I just need to start looking ahead at the next workout plan to see where I want to take things.

Been a few days with lots if stuff going on in between. Last Thursday did our year end @dbqrunningclub/@theshoeshack/@saucony cookout. Followed by lots of gym time and miles here and there. I have 200m sprints this evening after I take the kids trick or treating. Weve been very busy with life so trying to get things in when I can. I hope everyone is staying motivated!

Yesterday hit the hill repeats and forgot how much they really work you. I had 5x400 repeats and hit them with an average of 2:15 per climb. Even at a slower pace you can feel the benefits of the climb. Easy 3 tonight with our @dbqrunningclub and @theshoeshack/Saucony costume cook out. But first, leg day at the gym!

Today's workout was a 4xHill repeat on the treadmill. I had a quick 10 min workout with pull ups, push ups, and squats and figured I'd knock out my hill work at the gym so I can enjoy the day after work. I did a half mile warm up, followed by 3 min of flat with 2 min of an incline (5.0 incline/10ish pace). I cant tell if my legs are tired from three days of running or if the treadmill workout was tough. I guess that's the price you pay for slacking off. Rest day tomorrow, 3 miles Friday, Farklek Saturday, and 7 miles Sunday. It feels good to be on a schedule again.

Hit the old Dreadmill tonight to start off this training right. Followed my run up with 3x12 - KB Swing, Push Up, Sit Up, Superman, and Squats. .
The weeks plans are:
Tues - 4 miles
Wed - 4xHill repeats
Thurs - 3 Miles
Fri - Rest
Sat - 35 Min Fartlek
Sun - 7 Miles

I might swap my Friday and Saturday run due to pulling the 1-5am aid station shift at the @minesofspain 100 miler this weekend. Good luck to all those running where ever you may be this weekend!

I've had a few set backs these past few weeks and had to cancel some of my goals for 2018, but today I'm determined to look to next years goals instead. My brother @radrunnerdad is seeking out that BQ next year and I figure I'd tag along for the ride. I'm beginning a 30 week (27 week as the marathon is 27 weeks away from today) to get me into shape for next year. Offical training begins January 7th, so it will be nice to have something to keep me on task with training, but not overly burden me to wear me down. I'm following Hal Higdons 30 week PR plan that helps boost the baseline before training officially begins. I hope this can keep me focused and motivated as I've been struggling getting back into routine with hurting my back (Papercup Gate) last month and dealing with a cold that keeps popping in and out. Stay tuned folks, my fat ass is determined!
