Something I wrote a while ago, and something that still stirs me.... We live in a time where not much around us is real. From social media highlight reels to the food we eat, the thoughts we have yet the things we share.
To show up authentically is to be real, be genuine, not copied, and to me, authenticity is to be transparent.
Transparency is so important to me, yet frustration sets in when those around me buckle under pressure and don't show up as the role they've committed to in that moment.
Which leaves me in the question of "is it authenticity I crave. or a deep level of commitment, consistency and showing up as you intended to?" I think each has its place as does vulnerability, strength, courage and resilience.
Mayb we all just need to show up as we are, not overcommit to being something we are not and find a life that aligns. 🤷♀️ That's what I aim to do, the way I intend to live, and when shit gets tough I hope to still show up as me but the me that shares my cracks and crevices as something not to be fixed, but more as something to be cradled and considered beautiful.
Times like these are necessary for our human experience to evolve and grow, so don't crave attention in these moments, but more a mirror, so you get the opportunity to face off with it and dive into a new level of self acceptance and love.
Be you, be all of you, but be real in the you you wish others to see. Be so real that when you look in the mirror you both like and dislike what you see. That’s real isn’t it, the ebbs and flows in our own ideas of what it is to be fully present in love, to see the fullness of the story, the duality and accept it for all that it is.
Be mindful of the words you say and the actions that follow and think beyond the impact this has on you but more the collective you share them with.
Be authentic, be real and show up in all you choose with commitment, and deep level of compassion.
Authenticity comes when you remove the idea that you need to matter, that your experience is the most unique and when you realize that you are both the drop in the ocean and the ocean in a drop.
