In September last year we went to Italy, visiting both Rome and Naples for a few days. Rome is such a beautiful place, full of history and great food of course! We did the classic tourist traps, the coliseum, the Forum and Palatine hill, as well at the Vatican City! We found a cat sanctuary that was super cute and Went to the pyramid of Cassius Cestius which was pretty cool too! In Naples we climbed Mount Vesuvius and visited both Pompeii and Herculaneum, which were so interesting! Another place worth a visit that is not as well known around Naples is Castel Sant’Elmo, an old castle and ex prison, with breathtaking views over the city and skyline. The food was the highlight of the trip as Italian food is something I could easily live off, but the stunning architecture and beautiful scenery were incredible too. I loved the street artists and musicians everywhere you went in Rome, It just adds so much character, and it’s something i noticed about Melbourne too! The public transport is so easy and frequent, so you don’t even need to stay in the heart of either city to really appreciate them!
What’s your favourite City in Italy? Mine is Rome but I really want to visit Venice and Florence!
