What an inspired lidea! Wish we could go.
I am so excited and can’t wait to share that I’ll be in Washington DC with hubby and we are going to make tum makhoung at the Washington Monument on Friday, August 9 from 7-9 pm. The monument was built to commemorate George Washington and is the world's tallest predominantly stone structure and the world's tallest obelisk! I lived in that area for three years so I’ve got a few friends joining us at our potluck picnic. Yay!! If you’re a foodie who likes meeting new friends and love tum salads as much as I do, then please come on out to meet and eat with us. Just bring picnic essentials like the Lao saat mat to make it comfortable to sit and eat on the lawn area. I was thinking of making various kinds of tum salads concocting whatever anyone chooses to bring. We can have tum papaya, long green beans, cucumber, mangos, tamarind, plums, grapes, noodles, chicken feet, clams, crabs, etc. etc. You get what I’m saying? LOL! You bring it and I’ll tum it all! Haha! Hope to see my fellow Lao foodies there cause we are all about having fun, fun, fun! Let’s watch the sun set over our nation’s capital together! You can even try Tui’s tum makhoung.
