Training for my Ironman I had to find out what it’s like to run a half marathon. I see why they called it the Hill Yeah! Half. The hills were strong. Still really happy with my race and finished 9th overall at 7:11 pace. 1:33:59 for this first timer. Mad props to my wife for knocking her relay outta the park! So today wasn’t what I expected. Alarm went off at 5 am and the rain was just too aggressive with thunderstorms . So I had to tackle just 5.5 hours on the trainer. Great mental training but between some wicked ultra running documentaries on western states, Gary Robbins FKT on the Wonderland Trail, National Geographics Breaking 2 doc and finally getting around to watching The Shape of Water I got er done . Feeling good and have this cheer squad to lick the salt off of me. Time to chill and get ready for tomorrow’s big training sesh. Happy rainy Sunday y’all. Second #IMMT703 done, two minutes faster! Can’t believe I chopped time after *really* not training for this! That’s with a helmet strap penalty.... ugh! Mission Valley duathlon in the books. I haven't looked over the details yet but the increasing winds stirred us up on Run number 1. I was beyond PR pace for half the bike, which was in part due to a stiff tailwind and in part due to some rabbits down the road. Return bike was a bit dicey with the winds tossing bikes and riders about.
Run number 2 was a hot mess. I burned quite a few matches earlier and went with the pacing strategy of "throw it against the wall and see what sticks." Pretty happy with the result but there is room for improvement. These younger athletes are getting faster! #figuringitout#crackingthecode#thisshinyisheavy
2nd place for me today! And more importantly a huge confidence booster! I enjoyed every second today and that has not been happening recently. My personal plan was to just STOP thinking, relax and do what we are trained to do. Enjoy racing, and try and smile! Something I have been forgetting this season. - Another goal was to win one of these awards! All homemade awards - it is a bike gear flower! How neat is that! 2km d echauffement suivi de
10x30/30 3min de footing et 2eme serie de 10x30/30.
Puis 2km pour rentrer tranquillement.
Les 30/30 sont bien passés avec une allure rapide entre 3min45 et 4min au kilo.
Depois de muitos meses afastado da competição devido a uma lesão, estou muito feliz por estar de volta! Senti-me muito bem em prova
Estes últimos meses não foram fáceis, ficar de fora e ver as grandes competições passarem por mim sem conseguir estar presente é algo que é difícil para qualquer atleta!
Felizmente pude contar com o apoio da Federação de Triatlo, do IPDJ, do COP e do SLB! Incansáveis na minha recuperação foram os fisioterapeutas com quem trabalhei, o Pedro Mimoso, o Diogo Cunha e o Júlio Pinto, sem esquecer os meus treinadores Pedro Leitão e Paulo Antunes e o meu colega de treino Rafael Domingos.
Este 1º lugar nos Jogos Mediterrâneos é meu, vosso e de todos os Portugueses!
