Four years ago I was working full time as an attorney in a law firm in downtown Santa Barbara while also trying to establish myself as an elite runner. But, as a runner, I found myself frustrated with options of what to wear. The pickings were slim, and most running apparel did not seemed designed for an actual runner. The technical running gear was outdated and unattractive, while the fashionable athletic apparel wasn’t running specific. So, I had a crazy thought. Why not design something better, something that looked good, and performed even better?
So, that’s where the supreme mother-runner-bad
a$$ Monica @devremon comes in. Monica and her husband Joe own the local running shop, and Monica is a pillar of our local running community and someone I’ve always admired and looked up to. So, I pitched my crazy idea to her and she immediately said, “omg yes, let’s do it!” As a running store owner and lifelong runner herself, she knew all too well the frustrations of trying to sell bad running apparel and knew the options out there were limited.
So, that’s how the idea behind @runinrabbit running apparel was born. Two runners, dreamers, friends, set out to make amazing running clothes that look and feel great, to help build an incredible running community, and to make a positive impact in the sport we love so much. Four years later and all of our dreams have come true. We have the most amazing team working with us, and my level of pride cannot be put into words. To all of our customers, fans, friends, runners, team, community I just want to say thank you for making this possible. And if you haven’t yet tried it out, give it a try! We also have some comfy loungewear (hoodies and sweats) for the non-runner. You can find out more at the link in my bio.
