Last night we arrived in Doha, Qatar to join the rest of the national teams for the ANOC World Beach Games. 😎
The venue is beautiful, and accomodation is in top! We went straight to the opening ceremony, and then back to bed, because we had to get up at 3 AM (2 AM Danish time) to take the shuttle to race location, where we had course familiarization and suit check up. The early times is because of the heat both in the air and in the water.
The weather is extremely humid and hot, and the water temperature was 32 degrees celcius this morning - And extremely salty. 😛 Air temperature is app. 36 degrees celcius at 6 AM at the venue. This means over heating is a serious consideration even on such a short distance.
Race will take place tomorrow at 06.00 AM (05.00 AM Danish time) and can be watched live at www.awbgqatar/watch-live - at this link you can also follow the toget danish athletes here the next days, competing in cool sports løbe skateboarding and beach handball. 🇩🇰
The race will unfold as a 2.5km run, a 750m swim and a 2.5km run in the end as well.
Time to put the hammer down on last time in 2019 and it looks like our biggest enemy this time is the heat 🔥
This is going to be one for the memories - I can't wait! See you on the other side side #dontsettle
