Join Evans Afriyie-Gyawu, PhD and Emily Eisenhart, MA on a 4-week journey through the country of Ghana as you complete a rewarding internship/practicum/preceptorship experience in West Africa, and learn about the successes and challenges of developing effective public health infrastructure.
This study abroad program program will be offered as a Summer Long Term. Students pursuing DrPH, MPH, BSPH will be required to enroll in 3 credit hours. Students outside of the Jiann-Ping College of Public Heath may participate in this program for elective credit as approved by their home departments. Students can choose from the following:
PUBH 9790 – Doctoral Preceptorship in Public Health
PUBH 7790 – Practicum in Public Health
PUBH 4195 – International Studies Abroad in Health and Promotion
PUBH 4090 – Selected Topics in Public Health
Cost Includes: Rountrip airfare to Ghana, all ground transportation for group activities; lodging for the duration of the program; breakfast and dinner most days; all required tour and excursion fees; visa processing, and a medical travel insurance plan.
