The point to note is that the history of the Muslim rule in the subcontinent does not provide any reason to a Hindu to mortify himself with the thought that he was, throughout, a Slave while every Muslim was his master, or any justification to Muslim to elate himself with the flattering notion that he was, once upon a time, the master while every Hindu was his miserable slave.
Such thoughts and notions, producing alternatively the most vicious inferiority and superiority complex among the following of the two faiths, cause highly irrational, hollow and emotionally conditioned mental reactions among the two that one, straight away, sets out, if aroused, to avenge his past enslavement, and the other to regain his lost mastery.

So this was our short sight seeing trip of #Lahore with kids. We went to #minarepakistan and explained the entire story of #twonationtheory, the struggle, the suggestion of the name #Pakistan and the introduction to #pakistaniflag , both I and hubby were so excited to tell kids about it, but R and MnM had only one thing to say... Mamma, we are melting! It's so hot! 😑 Insay bara spoiler koi nai! Then we went on to look at the Badshahi mosque and fatiha at Allama Iqbal's mausoleum. By the time we were done with that, we were roasted to bones, bus Shan masalay ki marination ki hi kami thi. 🍗 We took the #tonga back to the parking lot, the ride turned the hot kids into happy ones. Whew!
Some of the mothers asked me how am I keeping kids away from germs during this road trip as sick and cranky kids are the hardest to manage when one has to travel for longer hours. Well, first, stop getting scared of the germs, they are around us and within us so we can't really avoid them. Arrange for things that keep their tummy healthy and their hands clean. I have kept their #probiotics , #wetwipes and #water along to keep them hydrated. We also bought some #fruityogurt on the way as their snacks.
If you have travelled with kids, how have you been ensuring happy and healthy kids? Do let us know!

Minar-e-Pakistan, is a #national #monument built in the 1960s to commemorate and #celebrate the #LahoreResolution of #1940 where the #MuslimLeague of the subcontinent demanded to carry out the #twonationtheory and form a separate state of #Pakistan for the majority of #Muslims in #India
The monument is located in the middle of a lush green #park in #lahore called the Greater Iqbal Park. It is quite hot to go there during the day due to the #summerheat and high temps.
So my family and I went there at #dusk so that we were able to catch a look of the #minar with the lights off and on. We took a train ride around the park and saw the minar slowly glow up as the sky darkened.
The structure was white barring the green small dome on top.
It was clearly a sight !! #lahorediaries❤️ #acrazygirlinacrazyworld #minarepakistanlahore #minarepakistan💚 #pakistan #lahore #historicalmonument #pakistantours #summer2018 #traveldiaries

The Partition of 1947:

In August, 1947, when, after three hundred years of loot and exploitation, the British finally left India, the subcontinent was partitioned into two independent nation states: Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan. Immediately, there began one of the greatest and most unplanned migrations in human history, as millions of Muslims trekked to West and East Pakistan (the latter now known as Bangladesh) while millions of Hindus and Sikhs headed in the opposite direction. Many hundreds of thousands never made it.
Across the Indian subcontinent, communities that had coexisted for almost a millennium attacked and massacred each other ruthlessly, with Hindus and Sikhs on one side and Muslims on the other - a mutual genocide as unexpected as it was unprecedented. The situation was especially intense in the provinces of Bengal and Punjab as they shared a common border with East and West Pakistan respectively. The situation was rapidly getting out of hand with numerous massacres, arson, forced conversions, mass abductions, and savage sexual violence. Some seventy-five thousand women were raped, and many of them were then disfigured or dismembered. Some women were forced to convert into the abductor's religion and then forced into marriage.
Nisid Hajari, in “Midnight’s Furies” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), his fast-paced new narrative history of Partition and its aftermath, writes, “Gangs of killers set whole villages aflame, hacking to death men and children and the aged while carrying off young women to be raped. Some British soldiers and journalists who had witnessed the Nazi death camps claimed Partition’s brutalities were worse: pregnant women had their breasts cut off and babies hacked out of their bellies; infants were found literally roasted on spits.”
15 Million people were displaced across the two nations and 2 Million people were killed due to the violence.

NATION OBSERVES 80TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF ALLAMA IQBAL

Web Desk: The 80th death anniversary of national poet and philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal is being observed on Saturday (April 21). Born in Sialkot, the Shair-e-Mashriq is considered to be one of the most important figures in South Asian literature, with works in both Urdu and Persian

Allama Iqbal through his revolutionary thinking had given the Muslims of the Sub-Continent the concept of a separate state where they can live in accordance with their religion and customs.

His work and thoughts are still relevant in the society. Some of his best works comprise Asrar-e-Khudi, Payam-i-Mashriq, Bang-i-Dara, Bal-i-Jibril, Zarb-i Kalim and Armughan-e-Hijaz

In his message on this occasion, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan can achieve a clear distinction in political, economic, social and religious spheres by following the thought and philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in true spirit.

Miner-e-Pakistan is a public monument located in, adjacent to the Walled City of Lahore, in the Pakistani province of Punjab. The tower was constructed during the 1960s site where the All-India Muslim League passed the Lahore Resolution on 23 March 1940 - the first official call for a separate and independent homeland for the Muslims of British India, as espoused by the two-nation theory.

President Ayub Khan took out a #fountainpen from his pocket, placed it upright on his desk and said to Marut Khan “build me a monument like this."
Minar-e-Pakistan #urdu ‫‫مینارِ پاکستان‎‬‬‎ "Tower of Pakistan" is a #publicmonument in Lahore. It was built in 1960s on the site where Pakistan resolution was passed in 1940 - the first official call for a separate and independent homeland for the #muslims of #britishindia based on the winning ideology of #twonationtheory . it states that the Muslims and Hindus of india are two distinct nations, regardless of ethnic or other commonalities. They both have rather antagonistic ways of life.
The #tower appears to emerge from unfolding petals of the flower like base, signifying the birth of a new #islamic_republic_of_pakistan and reflects a blend of #mughalarchitecture #islamicarchitecture and #modernarchitecture . The #minarett like #nationalmonument was designed by a #russianborn #turkisharchitect Nasreddin Murat Khan, who migrated to Pakistan with his family in 1950. Murat Khan was keen to free the Muslim Caucasus region from Soviet control and was even arrested during the "Engineers' Purges" undertaken by Stalin. As a strong supporter of Islamic architecture, he advocated the retention of a #nationalcharacter in #architecturepakistan . #storiesofpakistan #travelbeautifulpakistan #historicarchitecture #indianhistory #britishraj #independance #pakistan #newbeginnings #letsbuild #dreamcometrue #islam #yeswecan #whereitallstarted
