I’m listening to Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. 1977. I was reading about guitarist Jeremy Spencer. I learned that he was a slide guitar specialist. One of his inspirations was blues guitar player and singer songwriter Elmore James from Mississippi (died in Chicago in 1963). I found this in my small, but growing, vinyl collection. It’s one of nine compilation albums by Elmore James.
I’ll be joining @wgnnickd on @wgnradio this Friday, from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m CST. I’ll share my thoughts after listening to The Joshua Tree by U2, Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, James Brown Live at the Apollo by James Brown and Innervisions by Stevie Wonder.
I’d never listened, completely, to the latter three, until now. Don’t ask me how that happened.
