Pigmy Seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti). I like this image because it shows to the non-divers how cool it is to encounter this tiny animal. Finding one of these guys is not the easiest task! They only live on a particular kind of seafan which grows between 20 and 40 meters of depth, where the amount of available light is minimal and the recreational diver can only spend a few minutes. Once you find the soft coral, the search is on for 2 centimeter fish which may or may not be there, and looks just like every other polyp on the coral.
All the struggles above make each Pigmy Seahorse sighting an amazing experience!
