My playlist for March, April, May and June is up! --Link in bio-- by me
I feel as though I’ve been living in a creative black hole for the past 4 months…but this time it’s not for the usual reason (depression). I’ve actually just been insanely busy with all sorts of important life changes that will pave the way for a much more active social / creative / intellectual life in the final quarter of 2018. To say that I am excited for this new chapter to unfold is an understatement.
As some of you know, my husband and I recently moved closer to NYC (for my grad school and his job). Prior to the move, I had to have surgery, which I am still slowly recovering from. Even prior to that, I was working a very physically demanding job (that I loved) which took up most of my free time. So it’s been hard to focus on art and music for the past few months - to say the least. Many people have noticed my lack of creative output on here, and that is the “why”. At this point, my entire photo / music studio is basically in boxes. Unfortunately, I require a very high level of order and organization to feel comfortable enough to create. I think *many* artists can relate to this need. The space in which I live and work must be free of clutter and mess for that part of my brain to click on (absent of psychedelics) because I am always very aware of my surroundings and how they are affecting me.
This playlist is a simple homage to the power of music, helping me get through dark and dank emotional muck, always. Some of these songs have been with me since I was a child and some I have only recently discovered. They all make me feel incredibly uplifted. ️
