Every time I feel like 2018 is turning around, life throws another curve ball at me. I have felt the lowest of lows this year, and I have wanted to give up so many times.
Lifting is one of the few things I have left. Striving to compete again, and competing against myself in the meantime, has given me not only physical strength, but the emotional strength to get through the worst year of my life. You know you took too much time off when 105lbs for sets of 2 feels heavy ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜”. Had close grips of 115lbs after this and then pause reps with 100lbs. It'll all come back though...eventually. I used a lacrosse ball to massage my shoulders/upper back over using a foam roller, makes me wanna cry every time ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ฅ. Accessories and abs at the end.

GOT EM. So I tripped over my weed whacker and almost broke my arm while landing on a stone step :) :) :) elbow is out of commission for a while. Doesnโ€™t matter, when you gotta squat you squat. Modified my work out by using the safety bar. No pain! Iโ€™m worried about my comp and this damn elbow but I know the universe is looking out for me and will heal me up ASAP ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’™

First day back in the gym in over 3 weeks since my heart issue reared its head. Nothing but light accessory work today, to remind myself I'm not shrinking and I'm not getting weak. Keeping protein high, praying my lifts don't melt away while I wait for this cardiology appointment. Everytime I stand up I'm short of breath still, but the tightness in my chest, angina, and fatigue are gone. At this point I just want to know what the fuck is wrong with me, I could care less what it actually is. Not powerlifting makes me feel stressed man. I did not have a backup outlet prepared.

It's no secret I love squats!! I've done them every day this week.
The first is 215, while I'm not as deep as I know I should be, this was my last lift 2 years ago in competition. I was also 35ish pounds heavier. I feel confident that my coach will guide me well to hit depth and get heavier lifts before December.
The second is at 185..as I watched if I had the sound on you'd hear my ankles cracking.
A single chin up during my warm up, I think people should post more warm up stuff then working sets, personally...๐Ÿ’ช

*Pro tip that helps me: chalking hands for bench. I have small hands and the bar likes to roll sometimes. The more grip you can get on the bar, the more tension you can create and the more stable the bar path.

A first since I was like 7 yrs old. Back when I weighed 345 lbs and suffered some pretty awful mental illness crap, I never ever thought I would be able to do this again. Ever. Now I'm weighing in at 211.2 and look what happened. In my head Iโ€™m thinking, welp time to get a new boyfriend. But the more I thought about this, I started wondering how many of us do this to a certain extent โ€” where we strive to look a certain way because itโ€™s the โ€œnormโ€ or because we want to feel accepted by others? ๐Ÿ˜•

Only 15 more lbs and Iโ€™ll have a 200lb deadlift. Which I understand to many of you isnโ€™t super impressive but itโ€™s a hella big accomplishment for me. I wish I could progress my single like I can volume. 82.5kg/181lbs moved well despite me wishing it was more like 92.5kg. I hit a 2kg PR on 10s at 60kg/132lbs and I still have another week to PR more.

When I say today kicked my ass, today seriously kicked my ass. I had a good nightโ€™s sleep, woke up early to workout, but still felt exhausted. Supposed to hit 10x2 @ 80%, but hit 8x2 and finished the last two -10lbs. I was getting so mad trying to finish my deadlifts. So out of it mentally today.. Was actually able to finish bench 3x5 @ 65%. Barely hit what I was supposed to for squats and I knew I could do it, but only hit one set when I was supposed to hit three. Just so out of it today. Hoping Thursdayโ€™s workout is WAY better. Guess it was just one of those days.

That dreadful purple dress.๐Ÿ˜ท I know some of you dont know my story. So here is the short version. I got asked to be a bridesmaid in 2014. And had to fit into that dress by july 2015. With loads of cardio and barely eating I was able to loose 20lbs and fit into that dress. After that day I went back down hill and back to my horrible habits and gained all that weight back. Its Been nothing but a rollercoaster since then. Here I am now half way though 2018 and with a new coach and feeling better then I have ever have since my journey. would you believe I am 20LBS HEAVIER. Then I am in the purple dress ๐Ÿ˜ณ part of me wishes I kept the dress but oh well...BUT LOOK AT THOSE ARMS. For someone that has always been self conscious of their arms. This is a huge victory for me ๐Ÿ˜ So please dont give up. Yes it takes take and things you see on IG can be a huge mind fuck. Trust me I know. But just stay in your lane and stay focused and dont give a fuck to what others do or say ๐Ÿ’œ Happy #transformationtuesday .

I am HERE for this Strength Block๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Finally getting to work with some singles and I was STOKED about this session!
Iโ€™ve been stuck around 110# on bench for the longest time since making the maaajor transition to flat foot/wide grip. 110# FLEW. UP. yesterday๐ŸŽ‰ Not to mention how easy this looks at the beginning of a strength block and also being my last attempts at the past two meets.
