The only thing stopping you, is you. We as people, create limits and believe that we aren't capable to achieve certain things. If you can overcome the boundaries that you have established, you will have the ability to achieve whatever you dream🇺🇸

Did you know that in the Army the only person allowed to salute with his/her left hand is the guidon bearer? Sound off if you have had the privilege of being your unit's guidon bearer.

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY // When Brett Chapman first met then-SSgt. Daniel Dinsmore in 2015, Chapman weighed 250 lbs. SSgt. Dinsmore told the Inglemoor High School senior that he needed to lose weight and become physically fit to join the , so Chapman began breaking his old habits: no more soda, fast food or sleeping in. Chapman hit the gym, transformed his diet, and looked for support from his recruiter and like-minded friends. Six months later, he had dropped from 250 to 185 lbs. and was eligible to enlist. On April 1, Chapman completed recruit training and earned the title . His graduation weight: a slim 157 lbs. On July 1, Chapman was promoted to Private First Class alongside his recruiter, now-Gunnery Sgt. Dinsmore. Give 'em one! (P/C )

OF THE WEEK // Sgt. Dakota Meyer; Embedded Training Team 2-8; Kunar province, Afghanistan, Sept. 8, 2009; Award: Medal of Honor // Then-Cpl. Meyer maintained security at a rally point while other team members moved on foot with Afghan soldiers into the village of Ganjgal for a pre-dawn meeting with village elders. Moving into the village, the patrol was ambushed by more than 50 enemy fighters firing RPGs, mortars and machine guns from fortified positions on the slopes above. Hearing over the radio that his team members were cut off, Cpl. Meyer seized the initiative. With a fellow Marine driving, Cpl. Meyer took the exposed gunner's position in a gun-truck as they drove down the steeply terraced terrain in a daring attempt to disrupt the enemy attack and locate their trapped team. Disregarding intense enemy fire now concentrated on their lone vehicle, Cpl. Meyer killed a number of enemy fighters with the mounted machine guns and his rifle, some at near point blank range, as he and his driver made three solo trips into the ambush area. During the first two trips, he and his driver evacuated two dozen Afghan soldiers, many of whom were wounded. When one machine gun became inoperable, he directed a return to the rally point to switch to another gun-truck for a third trip into the ambush area where his accurate fire directly supported the remaining U.S. personnel and Afghan soldiers fighting their way out of the ambush. Despite a shrapnel wound to his arm, Cpl. Meyer made two more trips into the ambush area in a third gun-truck accompanied by four other Afghan vehicles to recover more wounded Afghan soldiers and search for the missing U.S. team members. Still under heavy enemy fire, he dismounted the vehicle on the fifth trip and moved on foot to locate and recover the bodies of his team members. (P/C & Air Force TSgt. Jacob Bailey)

OF THE WEEK // Maj. Kurt Chew-Een Lee; 1st Battalion, 7th Marines; Korea, Nov. 2-3, 1950; Award: Navy Cross // In late 1950, then-1stLt. Kurt Chew-Een Lee was serving as the Machine-Gun Platoon commander for Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, in action against enemy forces in the Republic of Korea. Immediately taking countermeasures when a numerically superior enemy fiercely attacked his platoon and overran its left flank, 1stLt. Lee boldly exposed himself to intense hostile automatic weapons, grenade and sniper small-arms fire to carry out reconnaissance, well in advance of his own lines, in order to re-deploy the machine-gun posts within the defensive perimeter. Momentarily forced back by extremely heavy opposition, he quickly reorganized his unit and, instructing his men to cover his approach, bravely moved up an enemy held slope in a deliberate attempt to draw fire and thereby disclose hostile troop positions. Despite serious wounds sustained as he pushed forward, 1stLt. Lee charged directly into the face of the enemy fire and, by his dauntless fighting spirit and resourcefulness, served to inspire other members of his platoon to heroic efforts in pressing a determined counterattack and driving the hostile forces from the sector. Lee is also a recipient of the Silver Star. (P/C The Smithsonian & New York Times)
