Just wanted a Christmas stocking for my boy, but need a @nextofficial dictionary, I mean Next Directory, to make sense of this page
This is no island of a landing page. It’s navigable from the main menu. So why doesn’t it make sense in isolation from your printed catalogue? I haven’t looked at a printed Directory for 20 years, and I doubt many customers sit with it on their laps while they buy online. Yet the Directory is running roughshod over your site. Its fingerprints are in the breadcrumb, and in the labels and categories that underpin the information architecture. That’s why it’s so hard to find things
It’s nearly 2018, so why not make user centred design your New Year resolution? Design for customers and their needs. Create categories that reflect the way customers group your products and give them labels they understand. Then test them with real people, and test them again to get it right. You’re welcome . Merry Christmas .
