Macro Friendly Steak Gyros 🤤
P: 31g • C: 40g • F: 18g
Meat Prep: .
1 Red Onion (for later - julienne cut) .
1.5lbs of Grass Fed Beef (I used stew meat, but you could use something better - either way it’s 85% lean)
1Tbsp Chili Powder
1 1/2 Tsp Ground Coriander
1 1/2 Tsp Ground Cumin
1/4 Tbsp Paprika
1/4 Tbsp Garlic Powder
1 1/2 Tsp Dried Parsley
1 Tsp Greek Oregano
1 Tsp Ground Thyme .
Add seasoning, beef and Worcestershire sauce (no specific measurements - just enough to make everything moist) in a ziploc bag and mix until well coated. Marinate for ~1-3 hours (I did mine for 3 hours while I was at the gym ) .
When ready to cook, heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add beef and let simmer until desired tenderness (I like mine medium/medium-rare - So about 10min? I just kept checking). Just before it’s done cooking, add red onion and simmer for about 5 minutes (so you don’t over cook your onion you don’t want it to be mushy). Separate 4oz of beef into containers (will make 6 servings). .
Tzatziki Sauce: .
1 Cucumber - peeled and sliced
1 Cup Greek Yogurt (I use 0% Fage Plain)
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
3 Tsp Dill
2 Cloves Garlic - peeled and smashed
Salt & Pepper to taste .
Add all ingredients in blender & blend until smooth. .
Now to put it all together! .
1 Whole Wheat Pita
1 Roma Tomato
Beef/Onion mixture (heated for ~ 1 1/2min)
Cover with Sauce (about 1/4 cup)
Warning: you might wear this more than you eat it. It’s suuupper messy! But, so worth it! Enjoy 💁🏼♀️
