It's not like I'm going to die from this disease any time soon, but my life has been taken from me because of it. With its little helpers society and its stigma. A stigma that doesn't help anyone, it only destroys. And opinions beaten into our bones from childhood, so they are inside me too. And that's not okay anymore. It was never okay. It's time to bring this out in the light, so that more people with chronic illness can live good lives. We have to change the way we view chronically ill people, and realize everyone needs certain cornerstones in their life to feel well.
This cures nothing, but it makes it easier to cope with symptoms. It makes life bearable instead of unbearble, and can prevent or ease additional diagnoses like muscle pain, headaches, anxiety, depression, apathy and many more. We need to see people where they are, and allow them to be there. If you are bedridden you must be allowed to be that without having to feel like you should run a marathon. It has to be okay to be in activity without feeling like you are undermining your own credibility.
You and I have just as much right to a good life as anyone, and it's so completely wrong that what you are taught as a child or societys stigmas should tell me or you anything different.
Repost of this because it's fucking important 🔥☄⚡
