I owe you all an apology. I was chatting with my mom a few weeks ago, about our Foundation (no, not THAT Foundation), the Younique Foundation. She said something that stuck with me: "You should talk about that more." So I'm going to take her advice (for once😜). Here's the reality: 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before they reach age 18. Raped, taken advantage of, shamed, their innocence destroyed. One out of every four women you know has experienced this atrocity. I have almost 5,000 friends and followers on Facebook, roughly 4,000 of which are women. That means that about 1,000 of you reading this had something like this happen to you. ONE THOUSAND. And there's more. I have two sons who are 1 and 3, who still believe the world is perfect, and innocent, and pure, and the scariest thing in the world is the iPad dying or running out of dinosaur gummies. Because of that, more than anything, this is a BIG deal to me. And it should be a big deal to you - because it means that odds are, someone you love has experienced this too.
The facts: We have two charitable branches, The Younique Foundation and the Defend Innocence project. The Foundation raises money for survivors - treatment services, counseling, retreats where they are made to feel whole and loved and important again, at no cost to the survivor. The Defend Innocence project educates YOU - to make sure that your babies don't face the same fate. Both programs are open to anyone. You do not need to be a presenter or even a customer to get help.
There's more: As a company, we don't just contribute "some of the time" or in a month with a catchy slogan. Every single day, your purchases fund these efforts. When you shop from me or any other Younique presenter, every single purchase carries the opportunity to help one of those children or women. We raise more than $40,000 a month solely from customer purchases. It is the VERY REASON our company was created. Not to make millions, not to make women rich, not to bring people like me home from their corporate jobs, not to teach you how to do a great smokey eye (though it did all those things, too). To help make sure your babies are protected, and those who have bee
